Hi everybody, has anyone got any pictures of the new bomber jackets being issued to police officers in strathclyde, because I want to see if it the same ones I'm thinking of. Also if someone could take a pic of their own that would be great. Thanks

Now even though i would love more than anything to become a pc, this opinion will always be with me no matter what i do in life. What is it with people that think they can drive and use their mobile phone while driving? what is it going to take for these so called drivers to understand that they are not in total control of their vehicle. Well i saw the most horrifying and total disregard for anyone's safety yesterday. I support adults with learning difficulties and at the best of times a lot of the people i support have very little road sense so it's vital that i'm paying attention twice as much while crossing the road. To my horror as i looked to my right i saw a merc…

I can't really describe how upset I am. In 2001, I had a small bump with another car, nothing major, just a smashed headlight on both sides and a big fright! I went to hand in my documents, which were all fine apart from the Insurance. At the time my dad took care of this as I was just out of school, and he paid for it etc. Or at least thats what he thought. He didn't take any notice at the time but I wasn't on the paperwork and when calling the Insruance company they confirmed I wasn't. He was adamant I should have been on it, as he had got the quote including me on the policy. The transcript from the insurance company said my dad agreed to the car being of a diffe…

I could use some advice about running if anyone could help. I have my set and fitness test in two weeks and have been jogging, exercise bike etc and seemed to be doing ok but the last twice i have been out jogging the pain going through my shin bones and knees has been almost unbearable after the run . \does anyone have any suggestions as to what this could be or how to reduce the problem. i do stretch before i go out. It certainly doesn't feel muscular, sort of more like the shin-bone and knee. thanks in advance Stevie

Hello I am looking for some advice regardingthe application process to Strath's finest. I have been researching the force, role etc since last Oct and feel I am now fully commited and sure enough to begin the application process, so im looking for a few pointers. How long roughly does the process take from start to fin (how long is a piece of string?!) Reason i am asking is I am 2 years out of uni, 25 yrs old and altho not overweight i am pretty unfit. I started the gym in Jan and i am loving it, however i am struggling to jog for anything more than 10mins without feeling like my lungs are about to explode!! So with serious training should i not apply until i have met t…

Having recieved a date for my final fitness and drug screening there is a question that's been playing on my mind. I know the police are looking for applicants to beat their previous time for initial fitness in the final fitness test however, is that a requirement to pass or is it still under 12mins and it's a pass. Since been given the date there's all sorts running around my head haha.

As it says on the tin folks. Do many regs take career breaks to go travelling, study or such like? When can you take one? I assume after your probation and how long can you take them for and what kind of notice do you have to give? Just curious really. Just been accepted into the regs but I think I would like to take a year out at some point in my life to see the world and hope I can't now do that until I retire! :D Cheers!
