Could someone with knowledge of the MET SC Sponsored vehicles give me a PM please? I rang up the MET switch board and I asked to get a contact of a SC officer, and I got asked what was the Special Constabulary!

Just thought it was quite interesting that the main perrils of early policing in the 1800's, was death by drowning! "1832 PC XYZ Drowned when a stray cow he was attempting to catch, knocked him in the River Brent" Several other PC's simply fell into the London docks, whilst on night duty... Remembrance Is this interesting, or am I just weird!??

I hope nobody minds me registering here as I'm not affiliated with the Police in any way. I'm doing a creative writing course and writing a story about a heroin addict that overdoses. Could anybody describe the procedures, protocols of officers discovering such a person. Perhaps two officers in a car discover the man not far from a vehicle accident and he is overdosing. Any idea what codes they would use or would they radio an ambulance directly or via a police station. No idea how it works and I'd like the story to have a ring of authenticity about it. Any other details that can help me or anecdotes of dealing with heroin users would be helpful. What precautions ar…

The majority of regular officers for this shift were utilised for other duties including warrant offender detection, ai…

Hi guys, just thought i'd give you an insight into what has been going on this weekend at RY. Saturday was the Danson park fireworks display and this year it was entirely policed by the specials.Approx 40 specials were in charge of policing 25,000 people including many of the local gangs and it went off without a hitch. I was told it was the 1st time an event this large was policed entirely by MSC and im thinking that with the way things are going with the met, it wont be the last. Just thought id let you guys know, and im sure steve1981 will vouch for this, that the MSC at RY did us proud. P.S: keep a look out for an article about it on the intranet site and the job …
