Hi guys, i just wanted to know has anyone else chosen to do the saturday training which starts on the 4th of dec? and if you have, have you recieved and information about it?

I have my level 4 driving exam in just over a week, and have been busy studying the highway code, along with a guide called the MPS Level 4 Driving Exam - STUDY GUIDE Police Officer / MSC. However some of the kind of things I've been told may be asked are not covered in either and I was wondering if there are any other things I need to have a read through in order to pass, along with any other general tips you could provide me with either on here or via PM. Hello, Can anyone tell me how much you can claim for subsitance for a tour? Now I've come to put in my claim I can't find the piece of paper with the info on. I seem to recall that 8 hours is £9.61, but what about 4 and 12 hours? Cheers

so... after completeing my final PAC, i was handed this little white book the other day and told, crack on! whats the deal with SOROC then, is this the new version of IPS? what new super powers will i have once the last thing has been signed off by my line manager? Im hoping some sort of spidey sense where i have a radar to catch the little robbers that run into houses after theyve done the deed. not that that would be admissable in court... how does it compare in regards to length of time to complete. you have to, twice, report a non crime incident, arrest, present to custody, report someone (i assume an FPN will do?)...anything im missing?

The snow may well thawt my progress to hendon this weekend for my training induction. It must be very clear to the staff up there, that there are travelling delays etc, but does anybody know how leanient they will be if I am unable to get up to London for the day? Obviously I am going to try my hardest, and it is only Wednesday, but I'll be absolutley gutted if I can't make it... I just wondered what the reprecussions of not being able to get there might be?? Arghh soo much effort to get to this point, and it goes and snows!! Just needed to vent my anguish... thanks for listening! *sob*

Ive been told that OSU are the only msc unit to currently have Public order level 2 training offered to them. What is the general availability of this course within the osu (how many courses/places, how easy to get on) once soroc is completed? What oppurtunities for work during the week are there? (non friday/sat night duties) Ive also been told that one can parade with tsg on commish reserve once po2 trained? sounds interesting....

I'm having trouble getting my application up to speed. I had my Day 2 on the 28th September 2010 and passed everything. I emailed the HR address last week and was subsequently called back on Tuesday. I was told that they were awaiting the outcome of my vetting and I was given a number for the vetting department to obtain an update from them. Okay, cool, we're going places. So I give them a call and I'm informed that my vetting has already been processed and cleared. I'm then advised to call Hendon to ask them what they're playing at, so the lady gives me a number to call. Before handing over a case file, how do we know which MG Forms have to be used. as the other day for an alleged assault all we needed was mg11 and eabs, whereas for drink drive there were about 13 different mg forms needed?! Can anyone break down which mg forms are needed for the common offences?

As it says in the topic title, I am applying to be a special in the met, however the BMI chart puts me at around 38 which is obese, however due to the sport I do, my body fat is at 11%. I am a semi-professional strongman (same as on tv) and train 5 times a week, I recently did a bleep test and got to 7.8. With regards to pulling and lifting weights for the fitness test, I can bench press 200kg instead of the 35 the met require. I can easily pass the fitness test but I am worried when it comes to the medical they may turn me down due to my BMI and weight of 19 stone! Rushton
