Hi all haven't been on for a while but I've just got myself booked on a Saturdays course starting 14th Feb for the Hendon OSU. It's only been 2 years since my application went in for a full time PC role but we'll get there eventually :whistle2: Any news on anyone else starting training then or what the OSU are like please contribute! Hi all, currently a special of 3 yrs in Met, IPS and have application in for Sergeant too. On current borough I cant get a level 3 driving course as they dont offer to specials and wondering what boroughs you are aware of that do, and if so and I was to transfer, what the timeframe would be in order to get level 3 IRV trained. Have been basic level 4 for nearly 2 years now. Thanks in anticipation Paul.

Hi I was wondering if anyone had the number for the HR department (or is it now called PeopleServices? I can't remember). Just any number for general inquires will be fine. If it's not suitable for posting on the board than please PM me. It would be a life saver!!!

Hi team I am in process on vetting on my application . Day one and two has been completed. The thing I am worried about was a ticket my husband got from harrow council .. As he was driving my car (he is insured on both my cars) and went down wrong way into a street, I got a letter in the post with picture of my car showing he gone down this road.. It was issued by harrow council(penalty charge notice) HR81211174. Which was paid straight away. Please note this happened in 18/04/08 As I was told to tell met police everything. Sould I worry about this Yours thankful Sent from my iPhone

Well here it is, I spoke to a friend from hackney borough who said his commander has told him there is to be a regular draft between April and July, to fill the vacancies of sackings retirees and quitters of which there has been a lot of and operational strength is not what it should be. I also spoke to a seperate friend in Lewisham borough who has heard the same thing from his senior staff. This draft is to consist of between 300 - 900 officers and for the applications needed for this will be taken from currently serving PCSO's and specials who have completed their allocated time, PCSO's are being targetted because the MET does not wish to lessen the amount of specials…

My "job" trousers attract all manner of fluff and other bits which don't come off even with washing. This does not happen to my normal work trousers or casual trousers. Obviously I am keen to be as 5 Ps compliant as possible so I would like to know if there is some known "technique" for ridding my trousers of MetFluff. And please do not say "dry cleaning".

I haven't signed anything like this as a special and I've never been asked to but I was just wondering, Can specials sign passports, we are police officers and we have the same powers and responsibility, we all have warrant numbers so we can all be held to account. To be honest I don't I even want to sign passport applications. Discuss.... SCDD

Hi all, I am considering a change of scenery and work involving a move to London from Scotland and was wondering if anyone knew anything about how I am likely to fare with the application / transfer process? I keep trying to ring the recruitment line but end up with 5+ minutes of "we estimate we will answer your call in 1 minute" and lots of cheesy musak... I appreciate I'll need to go through lots of training (and learn to genuflect to Custody Sgts ) but hopefully skip some of the assessment stages etc. Cheers in advance

As someone involved in policing, how do you think your insiders view changes how you would fill out this survey? http://www.met.police.uk/saferneighbourhoods/survey.htm

I was thinking about going to an MPA meeting at City Hall and was wondering if its likely that there would be enough room to get in as I'm not sure how busy it gets?
