Metropolitan Police (London)

So I guess most people have heard but after two years at the Royal Parks OCU and a year with Lewisham as well I am now off to join the Safer Transport Command. There are four strands, Cabs, Cycling, Road Response & OSG, in the central command unit, which I will assisting to look after with the regular management and a Safer Transport Team in each of the boroughs. I would like to thank all the PL & RO officers and wish them well as I am sure they will go from strength to strength. I look forward to working with my new colleagues at STC. Best Steve

Please can someone who is on Bromley borough tell me if all these views across the forum are correct? I would of thought it was a great borough to work on, they have crime statistics that are close to Greenwich and Hammersmith+Fulham, both inner boroughs. Yet some people have posted in past topics that it's really quiet and shouldn't be chosen. So, just out of interest, what are some people's problems with Bromley?

I was training at Hendon a few weeks ago when I was speaking to an instructor about the recruitment situation for new Pc's and how the new process from SC to Pc would work in practice. The instructor told me that the Met were keen to get PCSO's through the process first before Specials. I asked him why this was and he said it was because the Met is loosing it's once ring-fenced budget from the Home Office that pays for it's PCSO's so it was logical to reduce it's wage bill by re-deploying PCSO's which they can no longer fund to the role of Pc as there is a need for more Police Constables in the run-up to the Olympics and this need is increased due the large number of off…

Hi All, What are the avaliable course options now? I know there is the intensive, hybrid and saturday and sunday but for the hybrid do you then go on to do a saturday and sunday or just one day every weekend? Regards

Hi, I have just sent off my application does anyone have a rough idea on how long it is until I will hear anything? I am waiting for a reference number as I need to forward more information. Also I am from Cornwall and do not know the Met area that well, I have requested North London area as this is close to family that I can stay with, can anyone recommend which borough I should request? Hi all, I have passed my Day 1 and Day 2 assesments and have also been vleared by vetting......i have had an email back from the speacials HR team advising me that my application has now moved to 'offer manager review stage'.
