I here that MSC are introducing the rank of Specials Chief Inspector, one per Borough? Do we only have a Chief Officer, Lorraine Woolley and Assistant, Pat Holdsworth? No Deputy Chief Officer?

Has anyone else heard a rumor about level 3 courses being pretty much non-existent in 2011?? I imaging that the quantity available will probably be cut down, nut all together??

It would seem that the Met Benefits site has now been relaunched by Vectis. I do remember readin something about this in the Job Magazine a little while ago. However to access the site you need your unique employer code. Does anyone know what this is?

Hi all, I would like to discuss some fundamental changes that will affect all frontline officers within the Met. I understand that many people here are waiting to join the Met, so I will try to carefully explain what is happening. I simply want to know what people feel about this... At the moment, the Met is split into the actual 32 Council Boroughs of London. Which makes sense, so that local Borough Police Officers can meet and serve the needs their individual Boroughs. Having waited a good 3 months, I have finally got my Day 1, which is on the 20th January! I was wondering if somebody who has already been through the process with the Met, could tell me what the written assignment is? and also what kind of question they ask, or what you have to write about? hi guys firstly a big happy new year to you all hope you all had a good christmas basically i had to do that thing before xmas where you have to ring them up to book onto the trianing course soo i done that , andi recieved an email about a week before xmas saying that all my references were fine and my application was now complete i know that they send you some kind of confirmation letter before your training but i wa sjust wondering when will i get this letter my training starts on the 16th january 2011 thanks ry

Hi I received an email yesterday giving me my assessment day 1 date, they gave me 20th Jan. I cannot do this and have emailed letting them know, does anyone know how long it takes for them to reply and provide you with a new one? Thanks

Hi guys, I would be interested to hear peoples experiences of borough training after you complete your foundation training as I am sure it varies greatly from borough to borough.. So far I have undertaken 3 shifts and pretty much sat on my behind in the station. I have been assigned to a team for 'coached patrols' but have no mentor, no training schedule and no one has really shown an interest in showing me the ropes . If I am honest I have to admit to being a little dissapointed! I expected to have to be proactive in my training but when you know so little and are reliant on others to help you it's a little difficult! The team just doesn't seem setup or interested in …
