I'm going to be careful with this one. Please don't reveal operational info in your replies. So, basically I was talking with friends today and it seems we have all had mixed experiences when arresting or dealing with incidents when we are off duty. I.e. going into a BTP custody where things run very differently. Just wanted to see if anyone has a story/experiences to share. SCDD

Evenin' all I'm currently a serving Officer for HMP and I'd like to join the Met as a special. I have a couple of questions about the whole process, I did originally have about 10 but this site has answered half. Being HMP means I work Weekend On/Weekend Off so the Saturday course is out so is the Sunday course, could you do the training every other weekend? I get 8 week's holiday per annum so at a push I could take some leave and do an intensive course, which brings me onto my next question - Which is the better in people's opinions? Sat/Sun Courses or intensive? Can I ask for a specific borough, as the Prison I am in currently takes people from "Sarf of tha Wawta" …

Hi team, Another IPS thread so bear with me... What is everyone's opinion on completing the SOROC book? I know it varies in each case and by each officer, but I am at a bit of a loose end at the moment and could really do with some opinions on feasibility etc... Lets say for example, working 2 full shifts a week. Would 2/3 months be reasonable for a dedicated, switched on officer? That would be around 128/192 hours respectively... Opinions welcome guys - positive tone though please Alfie

I have a number of questions about Safer Transport. I see them regularly in and around the blackwall tunnel stopping vehicles, assisting with tunnel closures etc I understand that they respond to fast road related calls How much cross over does this team have with traffic? They drive similar vehicles to those in the traffic dept (bikes, bmw estate cars etc) What is the difference between Borough based ST officers and MET wide ST officers?

I have just picked these boroughs and i wanted some information about the area and what these borough do best. Example response, progression,proactive. etc

Hi, When I filled in my application form I put CW as the first choice and PY as my second choice, however after going on a insight patrol with PY I would like to now change that borough to my first choice, is it possible to change it? Dan Edit: My apologies if this has been asked before.
