Hey guys anyone with experience of problems with expenses within the MET? I have been submitting expense claims through my MSC manager since October and am still yet to receive a bean. Now clearly we don't get paid a wage but with the commitment we make to the MET I was kind of expecting basic expenses to be paid, I am now owed around £1000 by the MET and have heard many more stories from frustrated colleagues who have been waiting over 6 months for expenses to be paid. I don't earn a lot, I used up all my leave from my day job to complete the intensive course at the end of last year and had to outlay my subsistence and travel fares for the month, I did this on the und…

Does anyone know if the MPS paid for MSC Online? Its a good idea, and certainly meets a requirement, but in my opinion horribly implemented. If it was something free, and run on a best endeavours basis, then fair enough. But the MPS hasn't paid for this has it?

Whilst filling out the vetting form for PC Day 1, it is asked what 'Type of Questionnaire' was filled out for application into the MSC. Does anyone know what type this is? The options are... BS CTC SC DV Not Known Does anybody know for DEFINITE? And secondly, does being a special class as being "employed in HM Government Service"?

Hi there. I'm currently at the application stage for the Met Specials. I've got a quick question regarding the OSU. The Met website states that you have to commit to one Friday and one Saturday night per month. Does anyone know if you are able to just work on Saturday's with the OSU? I currently work until 10pm until Friday nights but could easily commit to Saturday's. I'd appreciate any info regarding this.

Hello, I was waken up early this morning along with my elderly parents (who I reside with) to be issued a Prevention of Harrassment Letter! I accepted it even though I disputed what my ex had alleged I had done (anonymously harrassed via Facebook & a DVD), because the office said that my signing acceptance of it I was NOT accepting guilt. Can someone please tell me if I could have refused acceptance of it without legal advice - I accepted it due to: 1) Still being half-asleep and 2) To get the officers out of the house fast as my elderly parents were stressed out by their early visit. Also will this warning show up in any future CRB checks? I am a sitting Magis…

Hello Forum! Well where to start eh?!.. So, I'm seventeen, and I left school when I was 15 (for personal reasons), resulting in me not gaining any GCSE's. I know you don't need any formal qualifications, but still. I'm very good with English, but very poor at maths.. Since leaving school, I've been unemployed, and not enrolled into college, but I've got an interview with a college for BTEC Level 1 Public Services course, so hopefully that will give me some sort of dvantage for when I apply. I've tried joining police cadets, but the coordinator doesn't seem to respond to my emails/calls for when I ask for an application form, but I'm waiting for my neighbouring boroug…

hey guys, just wondering if officers are allowed to carry say a 4D maglite on duty? its about 15 inches long and solid/indestructable. they do make a 6D model aswell which is around 19 inches. from what i've heard they are/were popular because of the power of the beam but also the fact that in emergencies they could be used as a self defence weapon. is there a policy that would prevent an officer from carrying one?

Hi All, Out of interest i would like to know how much notice individual BOCU's require before you can turn out for duty as an MSC Officer? There appears to be quite a variation across the MPS from what i've heard which definitely merits some discussion, so here are the Q's: 1) How much advance notice does your BOCU require? (i.e. 24 hrs /14 days etc) 2) Are you happy with this? 3) Does it appear manageable from the BOCU's point of view?

IPS Status Hi there everyone on PS.com !!! I am a newbie, currently awaiting my Day 1 assessment, and hoping to eventually be a Special Constable in London. All in all, hoping to be out there in time for summer !! Just curious about how long it takes to reach IPS status in London..... Which boroughs are really busy/ lively ? how fast (approximately) would it take a newbie/rookie to reach IPS status?
