From next week, I'm free due to academic commitments ending for this year until September. Do you know if it would be possible for me to switch to an intensive course and catch the tail end as I still have nearly 2 months running? And are there any running at the moment?

Hi All, I was going to send this query to the Reg Sgt in charge, but could imagine the ridicule for asking it! Anyway, First Public Order coming up, i have been given the info for it and it states Police Tunics and Full PPE to be worn, now i have only worn my tunic once at Attestation, and cannot imagine wearing it with duty belt and metvest? Am i being a plonker here? (now yuo can see why i didnt ask the Sgt) Cheers Darkie

I've heard that the role of MSC manager is going to change from a local one to a more regional model, and MSC Inpectors will be back in charge locally. What changes do you think there will be with regards to recruitment numbers, leadership etc dicuss?

Yesterday in the burnham area (Berkshire) there seemed to a met car with a PC and pcso, do the met work with TVP then as I have seen this a lot lately.

Hi guys, bit of an issue here, i have my ELS training starting this saturday, im yet to find out if its still at Hendon (no problem) or if its on Borough (issues) as the process is currently changing and last time i spoke to the training sergeant at bethnal green, he didnt know and i wont find out until thursday. issue is im working nights friday, finishing at 7.30 so i got plenty of time to get to both places, i use my bike to get to work, so if the venue is bethnal green i will need somewhere to lock it up safely. does anyone know of any motorcycle parking bays in or near bethnal green or within a reasonable walking distance in the tower hamlets area? thanks alot …

Doing my first aid at the premiere of the final Harry Potter film on 7th July. My excitement (I was second to sign up on MSC online ) has been crushed because I've been posted to a team in Trafalgar Square, not Leicester Square where it's actually gonna be happening! So just patrolling amongst busy crowds like any other populated event... Don't suppose anyone knows of a way I can ask to be moved (with success?!)

Hi guys, I currently work full time and wont be able to commit to the 23 consecutive saturdays or sundays, or the intense course. Are the met flexivle with training dates?

How you all doing? I'm currently on week 9 of the MSC course @ Hendon. My question to you all (if known) is there a limit in terms of how many tattoos your allowed as I know the Met is cracking down this. At present I've got half a sleeve (to elbow) and also tattoo round my wrist and due to this I am not allowed to wear short sleeve shirts which is fair enough however I remember in my application it did state if recruits were to get additional tattoos The Met HR would have to be informed. I am planning on adding more ink to my half sleeve as well as covering my other arm but wrist to elbow, do you think this would be acceptable in the force? (Obviously I wont be gett…

So...I've applied to a part-time job as a first aid attendant, and I will have to show that I have first aid certification at the interview. According to the form 250 (little ELS and OST training record booklet we have), the training we receive covers: First Aid at Work Emergency Life Support Automated External Defibrilation Training It also states clearly under this that the training makes me a HSE (health and safety executive) - recognised first aider (under blablabla act) and has an HSE approval number. Has anyone used their Met ELS training as official certification when applying for a job involving first aid (e.g. attendant, first aid at work officer etc.) and…
