Who do you think will replace Mr Stephenson and why?

Hi all, I had my first shift on Friday and it was an experience to remember!!! I noticed on a couple of the Specials that they had their own ASP & CS holders on their belts, is this allowed as I am thinking of purchasing them online at patrolstore.com? Grateful for your thoughts?

Hi, all. We're in the middle of a tidy up, as some of the Force Specifics have a lot of very old topics in them (there's stuff from 2006 in here!). Next weekend, I'll be binning anything that's older than twelve months unless there are any burning reasons why people might want them kept or if they're still relevant today (e.g. Borough codes). If so, drop me a line, failing that, my feather duster will be coming out. Cheers. Clarification - I'm focusing upon the clearly "dead" threads, e.g. stuff that isn't relevant any more. It's not going to be a universal bonfire, don't worry!

Mr McPherson has announced he is retiring at the end of the year, hopefully this will mean 12 hour shifts again and goodbye to some of the ridiculous plans he is bringing in http://content.met.police.uk/News/AC-McPherson-announces-retirement/1400003013568/1257246745756

Hi guys Had my Day 1 today! Quietly confident, however was a bit nervewracking! If I'm successful I will be joining the Sydenham OSU. I just had a few questions about this... 1. From people's experience, would it take longer/quicker to achieve IPS working with the OSU? As I would aim to complete it asap. and 2. From any existing OSU'ers, what kind of specific duties would you take on a typical shift? Many thanks in advance

Hi all, I was wondering if a warrant card can be used to travel on overground networks in Zone 6 on South West Trains? Hampton and Feltham are Zone 6 on SWT but I was wondering if the warrant card extends this far? Thanks

Dear all, I am looking to fulfil my ambition of becoming a Special. I could really do with some freindly advice about a descision I have to make. I live in Kent and my first thought would have been to join the Kent Force as its the most local, however I have recently been thinking there may be more opportunities in the Met with the Olympics etc. If I ever wanted to think about applying to the regulars would the Met give me more scope to do this in your opinion? Also, I hear some forces have a minimum service period before an application to the regulars will be accpeted. Is this true of the met or Kent ? Thanks in advance.

Did anyone else notice that 170 retired or resigned from the Met in the last week ? Are the bosses greatfull that they are saving money or panicking about staffing levels for the Olympics?
