I have just seen on the Met website that they are accepting transfers for uniformed PC's. It states that it is mainly for safer transport teams, does anybody know if there is any positions on response teams? If not what is work on the transport teams like and how difficult is it to move over to response? For info Im a serving Manchester officer. Many thanks

Hi Been suggested that it can be worth looking at the local byelaws for the borough you are working? Anyone have any idea where you can find these? I've tried Googling but without any luck - particularly keen on any for Lambeth or Wandsworth... Any advice / links / etc. much appreciated. Cheers, DubDub89

Could someone please tell me if you can go for a beer at Hendon in the Blue Lamp Club once your attested or do you have to formally 'join' to pop in? If its just a case of showing your warrant card what are the opening times please ? Regards

Is it only after attestation that specials can wear the uniform where it might be seen in public? For example, if a group of student (pre-attestation) constables with a staff officer or two, left Hendon training centre in some taxis (all in uniform) to go to another location on official business, would that be a massive big No No, or just something you'd need to get permission from a senior officer for? Just curious.

Arrested someone who was wanted on warrant (not backed for bail, power warrant) last night and they were also disqualified from driving so they were further arrested for that. Custody Sgt informs us that we shouldn't have arrested for the warrant as it "interferes" with the PACE clock for the disqual arrest meaning we effectively had to bail them for that and interview at a later date as wouldn't have had time to deal with it before their early morning court appearance. Apparently, what should have happened is that they're arrested for the driving whilst disqualified offence, interviewed and resulted somehow (NFA, charged, cautioned etc) and THEN arrested for the warran…

As above, really. My flat cap is a bit on the loose side, and whilst a judicious application of newspaper fills it out, one of the proper size would be better. Before I go cap-in-hand (boom boom!) to our trainers, am I on a hiding to nothing, or would I be better turning up to Hendon with box of chocolates and a bottle of something 'fortifying'?

Hey everyone, I start my training for The Met next month and I'm excited and nervous! But my question is what do I take to my first day? On the email all it says is go to the link to the Met training website. And it says it will tell you on there what items of PE kit you will require, but I can't find it anywhere. I was thinking just a rucksack, a4 lined note pad, red, black and blue pen? As for PE I'm not sure, can anyone help by telling me what I need, and any extra stationary etc. Many thanks Andy

Hi Just a quick question... Since MSC still get issued tunics along with their uniform issue in the Met, what is the best way to get these cleaned? Are we permitted to get them cleaned by our own local dry cleaner, or is there some Met-approved supplier we should/must use? Just checking in case there is a security issue with handing the uniform to an external party (such as a dry cleaner). Thanks, DubDub

Hi guys, Sorry if this has been covered before, I had a quick search but couldn't find anything on it... Is it possible at all to work on two boroughs at the same time? To put it into context, I have applied to work on OSU which work predominantly on weekends. I currently work part time on weekends only, therefore would have to do this in the evenings. But this means that the majority of my week will be free (depending on job hunting!), which could be made useful by working with a response team on another borough such as Greenwich etc. Has anyone had any experience of this? Or know if it is possible at all? Many thanks

Due to start the intensive course on Monday, I'm training for Tough Guy in January, so I am in the foundation stages of my programme so would like to use the gym if possible during lunch/ after the course. Are you allowed to use the gym or is it a no no?

Hi everyone this is my first real post.  Apologies if this has been asked on the forum before. Do we need to contact our borough while in training  or do they contact us. A few of my class have been contacted already and been given their shoulder numbers. I'm the only in my class going to KF. Thanks in advance for your help

Hi, I'm currently on coached patrols at CW and have requested to go onto a response team afterwards, however what is the difference between a Taskforce team and a Response team as speaking to a few SC's they have opted for Taskforce? Grateful for your comments and advice? Thanks,
