Quick question, I've got my uniform, but could do with a smaller pair of trousers (leg-length-wise), anyone know the best way to go about getting a pair that actually fits? I swear the guy who measured me up must have added a good few inches to most measurements. Probably wise on the waist, but not on the leg! Thanks.

Just interested to see where y'all are going... You have to choose an option in each question, so just select 'waste vote' if your borough is not under that question! JS

After an agonising wait I finally have a start date for my training with the Met. Is there anything worthwhile reading or doing before I start?

Please forgive me if this is posted elsewhere, but I couldn't find anything specific... I am just going through the battle of submitting my training expenses, and have now been asked to submit it on a 3205 to my MSC Manager. Now my only experience of a 3205 is just doing my monthly expenses on MSC Online so would someone be able to explain to me the columns/tell me whether I've got it right... Obviously you need one form per month? Hours = no of hours you did, Refs: what are the two columns for? £/p? Fare: as above? From/to: home post code to station location? Finally what's the point of having an "officer 2" section? Can I submit two months on one form? My trai…

Actually suprised that 2 people stopped to help them push. Good on them both. Not suprised however at the person laughing...I wonder how he'd feel it it had been en route to help him.

Hi Guys & Girls, Right so here it goes, made my application one year ago done my Day 1 and Day 2 which I passed, however just got a letter last week stating I had failed my vetting. So I rang up HR after being put through to many people I finally established that I had failed due to the PNC having 2 incidents about me during 2008 - 2010. I stated these on every application form including the 3 points I also have for using a hand held device while driving, the first incident was in 2008 I was interviewed and nothing else was done in respect of this, the second incident involved me being charged however at pre-trial stages this was dropped against me as I was not ev…

Would someone be so kind as to advise what Met Regs get in terms of annual leave please... As far as I can tell, it's 22 days a year running from April to March? So, when us newbies join we'll get 22 days pro-rata from December to March? Also, how do bank holidays work? I think that the EU must give employees 20 days annual leave as well as any bank holiday, so in our case 8 days for next year. How do we take them? Or do we just get paid extra if we happen to work on a bank holiday? Also, seen as most boroughs now run a 6 on 4 off on Team, is it that you only need to take A/L for the 6 days you are in, effecively meaning you can get 14 days continuous leave for 6 days …

Now that the Met has decided they won't take applications from civvies to become a reg officer - you have to be a special first - does this mean you don't have to go through the entire recruitment process of applying, interviews, tests etc all over again to become a reg?

All I can say is well done to the Commissioner and all the SNTs who have been busy today. I love the soundbite: "Give us the information. We will get a warrant and put the door in!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnhj2YG9iUY The twitter feed for ophawk is very informative
