Is it true the current SC's going through training now have to sign a contract that states after the Olympics they have to resign as a SC? Due to there being too many SC's at the moment.

Hi Currenty passed day 2 waiting for my training date . I have been assigned to the OSU not entirly knowing what they do except from the basics of they go around on a friday and saturday night dealing with public order . I have been told that they are essentially just a taxi for the drunks as the area im based in holds alot of night clubs any information would be very much appreciated ? Thanks

Hi members, I had a question regarding the potential places you can be deployed as a Special within the Met. I have seen a number of different forum entries outlining what you will get up to within: Marine OSU Traffic etc Where else can you be deployed? I have been unable to find a comprehensive list of all of the departments/teams which you can work in as a Special. Any responses would be great Guy

Has anyone else seen the latest circular from the Constables Branch Board. Not at all impressed with the National Federation's approach to the tribunal and generally not very happy. Done a few shifts now, and only just got around to putting my expenses in for training. Please someone correct me if Im wrong.... 24 weeks at Hendon, including attestation, 230 mile round trip each week, due to living on south coast, drove from home to hendon every week, MET pay 40p a mile. So on my workings im looking at £2,200 roughly....or am i just being stupid. Regards Warrior87

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone would mind telling me how I can put at the bottom of my posts, the timeline of events which a lot of members seem to have. For example, someone posted about training and at the bottom it said: Application sent: Early Feb Day 1 passed: March 5th Day 2 passed: April. Etc How can I put that timeline type thing at the bottom of my posts? Many thanks

Hi all, I'm currently well through the recruitment process with Essex Police but have come to realise that I made a mistake...and now it would be far more suitable for me to continue my application with the met. I have passed my assessment, interview, fitness, medical, and security clearance, and just need training up! I called the met recruitment department this morning but the individual I spoke to didn't seem to know what my position is with regards of 'transferring' to the met. So, can anyone here shed any light on my situation? Would I be redoing just day 1? day 1 and day 2? neither? Thank you for any replies

Hi there, I'm new to this forum. My background is that I am a student at university and am in the application process to become a Special, my Day One is at the end of this month. I just wanted to confirm, as far as travel entitlements for specials go, does this cover the overground? I.e. could your warrant card entitle you to travel from say London Charing Cross to Blackheath? Any response would be appreciated.

Evening! I'm looking for a bit of advice on a career plan for the future.. I'm about to tick over 5 years of service with Norfolk as a Special. Absolutely love the job and have been toying with the idea of joining the regulars. My day job career in IT is going from an OK bill paying experience to being an under challenging, over burdening slog that I'd rather see the back of I've been in contact with Met SC HR regarding transferring down there. I will be able to skip day one due to being a transferee just doing day two and filling the training gaps.. Good Day fellow Officers Im returining to policing as a special after a short travel break Im really want to get onto Lambeth. I am straight onto Day Two as ive been doing the Job for 8 years. I have chosen to go to Lambeth, Bremt, or Southwark.
