Metropolitan Police (London)

I have had a search but couldn't find what I was looking for. I have now received the majority of my uniform but there is some uncertainty amongst our class about exactly what we should be issued. Therefore I have the following queries: Do we get issued with 1 or 2 jumpers? I have been told that we may get 2 and 1 of them is lined? But the person that told me wasn't sure. Do we get 2 anoraks? 1 lightweight and 1 heavy duty. High-viz jackets? Do we just get the overcoat or do we also get a heavy duty jacket? All answers much appreciated

Been down London several times now and I have to say I am amazed with how friendly they are with photos being taken of their vehicles. I have been stopped many times in Essex when taking pictures but in London some officers smile, wave or even stick their blues on for a second!! Even when I have asked officers who are parked up if I can get photos, they have always said yes with a smile!! Not once have I been stopped by the Met, even outside the Police Stations.

This is open to everyone, from PCSO, specials, regulars, CCC, DDO's etc. Most of us will have aspirations, especially those in the police service. A lot of people know exactly what they want to be doing in the service at some time in their careers. One friend joined knowing he wanted to be a DC and 4 years later he has finished his development course and is on his way. One of the things that attracted me to the police was the VAST array of specialisations available. So, if all things go well and in an ideal world, what is your ideal job that you wish to be doing in 10 years time (or less!)? Promotion? Dogs? Mounted? etc

Thought i would say hello to everyone, hope this is the right place to post this? Anyway, been floating around here for a while, what a very informative site. Anyway, i used to be a Special in Suffolk for about 6 years, but have now applied to the Met and i have been given a date for a information type morning. What should i expect from this, is this like a information evening that most forces have? Joe

Good afternoon all, Quick question - I am due to start my training next month with the Metropolitan police SC. Can anyone advise when uniform issue takes place? Thanks Russell

Ive not recieved expenses in 2 months, previously it was running like clockwork. Just to make sure Im still doing it right before I submit Novembers (I worked quite a lot so am keen to get these expenses through). When printing your hours off of MSC online it only now prints 2 pages. Do I have to submit something new along with this?

Hi All, does anybody know if it's possible to join the CAIT Team as MSC. I'm IPS and have a lot of experience in caring for and working with vulnerable children?

Im a relatively new special and im due to join a neighbourhood support team soon. Id be grateful for a brief overview of what is it they exactly do. I recently read some posts on a day in the life of OSU and Marine Policing Unit, anything as informative would be great. Apologies if this has been discussed posted before. Cheers.

I've read lots of posts that say there are just a handful of section houses left in the Met now. Back in the 80's there were quite a few as I recall. I remember Gilmour House, Kennington (I stayed there); Maurice Drummond House in Greenwich; Sydenham; Trenchard House, Soho; Paddington Green; Norman Kendall House in East Ham. Robert Mark House in Marleybone - Can anyone remember the others, I'm sure there were lots more back then???

Snowing Quite heavily at the moment what's the chances of Richmond Sundays training course being cancelled tomorrow ?????

......but take a look at what is dangling from the front of 103RO's metvest!!!! Legend!

Hello all! Now, im TVP, so i know hardly anything about the met specials, i was just wondering if in the met (because you use different radios to us) if you can point to point each other? if so, how does it work because your guys's shoulder numbers are different to ours? Thank you!

Hello all, I've been able to track my application online from here https://secure.met.p...ec/logon.action, but for the past week now I'm getting a page not found error. I'm getting the same using different browsers/PCs/mobile devices/etc! My credentials (Candidate number, last name, etc) are all correct, it's getting past that login stage. Is anyone else having problems with the online application tracker? A
