Hey guys, just wanted to ask about blue card inductions to use the Met's gyms... I've emailed and spoke to several people from several BOCU's OST departments but unfortunatly no one knows where I can get a blue card from and have no idea where to turn now as the train has gone a bit cold. If anyone has a number or email to anyone who could help, It'd be great if you could drop me a PM with their details, preferably someone north of the river and to the east of London, but by now I'll take almost any distance.... Hi people, basically when I joined this forum and the specials nearly two years ago. There was a unit called Clubs & Vice, and I believed that some people from this forum were actually in that unit. Now with all these borough choices thread, I haven't seen anyone mention Clubs & Vice. I'm wondering if they are still around, what is the entry criteria, what will we be required to do? As I'm possibly looking for a move from team. Also on MSC online I saw that specials were allowed to join SCD 6, what are they required to do? etc. Many thanks P.s I don't know if this belongs in the borough choices thing or not, if so mod please feel free to move.

I have heard that regulars can travel a 70 mile ratius if charring cross, but has anything got a exact list of rail stations covered or a map showing entitlement?

I know the issue of old style IPS checklist vs SOROC has come up a few times, and I'm not looking to open that debate again. And I don't want to start the 'how quick can I get it done' one either. However, I'm just wondering how many hours it took people to complete the new SOROC book, either from the point at which you were given the book, since you attested or started operational duties (and yes, they are different dates as far as my Borough is concerned). So finally they day I've been waiting for! I've passed the application process and have got my day 1 on the 29th! Only problem, I live in a south east london borough, so getting to hendon for 9am is going to be a struggle, never been there before, and not too good with trains or tubes! Hi all, I am currently a BTP special with 6 years service and based in London. I have been very interested in the development of STC and was wondering if it would be possible to go out on a shift with one of their units such as the OSG?

I know the answer is probably out there somewhere, but I'm afraid, being in dissertation hell at the moment I don't really have the time to trawl through endless threads . I will be enrolled on the intensive course after I graduate this summer . Hi all, Just wanted to ask you all if you know what assistance/ services us 'Specials' are offered (if that is) when injured whilst on duty as I was injured at a protest recently and discovered I had broken my foot which I'm now out of action for next 6- 8 weeks! Grateful for your comments.

I passed day 1, but the borough I chose (Havering) is full. I now have to pick another one, however the one I am considering (Barking/dagenham) is a completely different environment and i'm not sure if I would enjoy it as much. The borough choices thread has no info on it, so if anyone can advise on me what it's like there I would really appreciate it. I'm also considering Tower Hamlets, but I go to uni near there and don't really want to be arresting anyone I might know (although chances are slim). Any advice? I did quite like the idea of a tourist area like westminster too (but travel would be annoying on night shifts). Help would be appreciated! Doc

Okay I know what you're thinking...... "Don't jump before you can walk" but I was wondering.... What actually happens during attestation? I know the basic that you swear the oath and become a real constable but what actually happens on this day and what happens afterwards ? And seeing as this is specific to the met.....where is it held? Hendon? Scotland Yard? City Hall? It seems a bit mysterious.

On my way to training for SC today I saw three officers, two Met and one BTP arresting somebody on a platform. The thought crossed my mind, who is responsible for policing the Underground? BTP or the Met?
