Hello Everyone!! Quick Question for the Gurus out there, who can answer this for me - With Handcuff Holders / Pouches , which ones are now being handed out with handcuffs to new officers???? I was always used to the Handcuff Holders which make the cuffs sit at an angle - Like these ones here - that swivel round However - i saw some cuffs on an offier the other day which are in some weird like black gortex pouch thing where the cuffs were sitting upright / vertical?? Also were being used on latest Episode of the Bill Can anyone clear this up which holders are now being used - the ones in the picture above, OR - the ones in an upright gortex pouch thing?? Hi,I have tried to search topics about ESP but have found nothing.I currently am a serving Special but also work in the retail industry, which supports ESP. I was wondering, what exactly is ESP. does it mean that I will have to take the paid days as holiday from my employer? I also have read about having to patrol where you work? is this true? Was just wondering if anyone knew/had a list of which stores/restaurants etc were part of this official discount scheme for MPS employees? Please, don't turn this into a debate about whether or not people should use their warrant cards to get discounts...we've had too many of those! We have recently been asked to demonstrate our fuel/mileage by attaching a fuel receipt to our monthly expense claims that at least covers the amount requested. Is everyone else suddenly having to do this? It's quite laborious given that each journey is individually itemized by MSCOnline? Isn't part of the recompensed ~28p\mile (which is low IMHO and needs to be redressed) for wear & tear? Does this mean the fuel receipt amount is bears little resemblence to the figure claimed? Does the MET have an understanding with HMRC? Do volunteers need to be burdened with receipt proof?

Ok sorry if this is a repeat i looked and couldnt find a reply specific to my problem. I currently hold a full category A motorcycle licence but no car licence (except provisional). I know that you need to have had your licence for over a year in order to do basic driving but does this need to be a car licence? after all ive been riding a bike for almost two years and had a full licence for a year by the time ive attested but frankly i dont want to waste money doing my car test unless i will be allowed to drive a car and progress on from there police wise. i dont own a car and dont particularly need one or have the ability to afford the insurance. I've been watching 'Raw Blues' Which was a documentary aired in 2001 (I think) around the recruitment for the MET regs at Hendon. So far it seems the students all lived on campus, did all physicals etc during training and not before..and it all took 18 weeks! But now an intensive training course is just 4 weeks? Is everything still taught? This is for the METROPOLITAN POLICE training only... Anyone shed some light on this? whats changed and why etc. Thanks in advance!

Probably a silly question but do Specials get any form of life / critical injury insurance cover when on duty? Reason for asking is I have insurance cover that effectively becomes null and void once i attest as it doesn’t cover me for injury or death in the job so i need to look for a different policy with undoubtedly higher premiums..

Hi everyone, I've just passed my DDO Day 1 for the Met and was wondering if anyone could give me useful advice/ information as to which boroughs are good to work in. I'm not from London, I'm from the North East so I'm considering living north of the Thames, such as Camden, or maybe near Brent or Barnet. The boroughs which I can choose in that area are Enfield, Barnet, Brent, Haringey and Islington. Does anyone have any useful experience in these boroughs or any boroughs which to avoid? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
