I passed! Tough two days though... I must be getting old as it took 2 days to recover... Happy to give advice for anyone about to go on the course.

Hi guys, I have court on Monday and haven't got a clue what to expect! In addition, am I expected to make my own way their and what to wear, tunic or not (which would mean taking my uniform with me in a bag and getting changed there?)? Boots, trousers, shirt, tie, tunic? So no belt kit and Met-Vest (stupid question but yeh haven't got the foggiest idea!)? Much appreciated guys!

Has anyone on here transferred from a Scottish force to the Met and if so what are your experiences? I'm interested to know what the good and the bad things have been, if being an officer in Scotland has provided any advantages (or disadvantages) before you transferred and what the biggest differences were. I'm not considering this as a career move presently (still in probation), but it is something that would interest me in the future (several years time) depending on circumstances. Cheers.

We get that from our MSC Managers, so what I said is one is not urgently required unlike some where they dont have active MSC Managers (where we have three) and need a S/Insp to fill that gap. This is why our previous one left as the job was already getting done, however im not saying we don't want a S/Insp. *** NOTE this is a merge of various comments from other threads - I am the OP and not Ben. - SBG ***

Hi. I just wanted to know what is the procedure/process of moving up ranks in the MSC. Such as moving from SC to S/sgt and S/Sgt to S/Insp. And then moving onto Chief Officer roles? How does it work. I know that for regs you apply and take your OSPRE Exam to become sgt. Thanks Jon

I'm curious to hear about any experiences (the good, the bad and the major differences) of regular officers transferring from a Scottish force to join the Met. This is not a career move I'm planning anytime soon, but is something I would consider in the future, depending on circumstances. Cheers for any input. :new_sorry:

I'm sorry if this has been answered else where but I cannot find it anywhere. Does anybody know how long the day 1 assesment pass is valid for. I had my day 1 last summer and wondered how long before it expires and becomes invalid. ~Thanks in advance~ Mike

So just as a discussion item within the Met - whats the view of the guys on the street - 1) Routinely arm all all officers (Reg and SC) 2) Tazer in area cars? Personal opinion is add it to the PPE - i would feel safer with it on my belt and happy to Justify any use... What are your views?

Hi, Since completing my application I have considered my second and third choices and would like to change them. Is this possible to do at all and if so, at what point in the process? Thanks.
