Metropolitan Police (London)

Hi all, Anyone else got their Day 1 tomorrow morning?

Apologies for basic question...couldn't find the answer in the active threads. Being a transferee I've had very little info other than "turn up"... so I have ELS 1 tomorrow - what is the dress code? In Merseyside we were in scruffs... anyone completed ELS recently who can shed any light on the dress code? Regards Kenz

Hi there :D Just checking if anyone else here is attending the Day 1 on the 22nd.

A recurring theme on the MPS section of PS.com is embroidered sliders and epaulettes. It seems they are quite desirable and we end up with some threads spinning rapidly towards being locked. Whilst they look nice it is not our place to decide who wears them. We have policy for that. If you don't agree with the policy then take it up through your chain of command. Some of you who know me through work will know that I represent my OCU on one of the clothing sub committees. As a result of two recent threads which got side tracked over the wearing of embroidered sliders I made some enquiries to the relevant clothing boards as I am aware of the policy and I saw that some of …

I was wondering if its possible for any MSC to join DPS and assist them with any work necessary...... Are there any MSC here who work/have worked with DPS before?

Just wondering if there is anyone with experience working on Southwark who can answer a few questions. I'm thinking of doing Southwark. Can anyone from Southwark help me?: Are they flexible with hours? Weekend duties? I might only do the odd Fri night and Saturday or Sunday. What kind of duties do they offer? Just SNT ? Response? Others? Jailer Duty? What courses are on offer? Driving Course? Method of Entry? PNC via MDT? PNC via Aware? I'm thinking of rejigging my Borough Choices for Specials. I don't feel comfortable living and working in XB. I'd rather do somewhere else

Hi all, Have recently applied for BTP and got really far into the process then fell at the last hurdle.. Have noticed that the Met are also currently recruiting for PCSOs and was interested in applying for them too (as i have more of a community focussed background) so have applied this afternoon. Apparently the close date was today at four, but this has been the third extension on the close date. Has anyone applied for this recruitment drive and have you heard back yet? Does anyone know when responses are likely to be please? Thanks for any help / advice you can give Charlotte

Hi all, been searching around on here for info on GD as this is my borough preference but all the information I can find on here is quite old, is there anyone on here who can tell me what Hackney is like to Special in currently? In terms of support etc Sorry if this IS covered elsewhere, but the only bit I can find here about Hackney is from 2007 -or I'm just terrible at looking! Thanks, jvt1

As we all know in December in response to the August riota all units of the MSC were allowed to do the LVL 2 PO. (within certain criteria). I have been informed that they are no longer offering this...( very reliable source, not another "special rumour") I have a unique situation which is the fact i had sent off for my card before this came about just wondered if anyone knew anything about this?

Can anyone tell me which nick the PL response teams work out of please? I due to start there soon and am trying to figure out my journey. Cheers PS sorry about the typo in the title....

Folks... just wondered you views on this... Firstly I have heard this third hand from my regular colleagues and I'm not sure how reliable the source who is a Special) is.... The Special was apparently talking to my colleagues and they mentioned training, especially cycle courses and the problems sourcing the uniform. This lead the Special to say that he had the option to pay £200 for the bike kit out of his own money to get a cycle course. He was apparently asked "why on earth would you pay for this out of your own money) to which he basically said that it was his hobby and he really enjoyed being a Special. The conversation continued and he went onto say that he and…

Anyone know the exact location of Nottingdale? Looking at google maps it looks like it's just off Mary Place/Sirdar Road. Just need to confirm this as the met site has no details on it what so ever. Cheers

Just wondering if there is anyone with experience working on Harrow (QA) who can answer a few questions. I'm thinking of doing Harrow because its a nice large and varied area and also where I go to college so quite convenient for me. Can anyone from Harrow help me?: Are they flexible with hours? Weekend duties? I might only do the odd Fri night and Saturday or Sunday. What kind of duties do they offer? Just SNT ? Response? Others? Jailer Duty? What courses are on offer? Driving Course? Method of Entry? PNC via MDT? PNC via Aware? I'm thinking of rejigging my Borough Choices for Specials. I don't feel comfortable living and working in XB. I'd rather do somewher…

Guys, I recently had my uniform fitting at Hendon as I missed having one on my Day 2. When I tried some trousers on they were the heavy wool ones. Are these meant to be worn with the tunic? I didn't try any others on as they were out of stock, but is there a 'day to day' work type trouser issued?

Hey guys Just wondering if anyone has an email or number for TW duties if possible doesn't seem to be on aware ?? Any problems with op info please pm me Thanks
