Hi guys, Apart from the current graduate scheme at the moment, to become a PC when recruitment opens you have to be a Special with IPS or a PCSO. Does anyone know if DDO's will be able to apply internally or if this might change with their numbers increasing?

Anyone know anything about an upcoming recruitment campaign for experienced officers?

Did anyone watch this documentary on late last night, it featured a fellow SPC and was very informative actually with it focusing on views of the officers first hand on scene.

Afternoon all, Probably one of those threads where many of you sigh! But I am looking for some advice from Met SC's if possible. Now that I have a little more time free having completed my p/t degree (hurrah!) and working in a school term time I am looking to join the SC. This is something I have wanted to do for a while and so am now looking into it with more thought. I understand that Met is not recruiting at the moment but have a few questions regarding choice of force and work etc. I live on the border of the Met and Surrey and so am considering both forces before deciding which to apply for. With regards to the Met, I am particularly interested in working at Heath…

Guys, I've recently attested and completed all the NCALT packages and been issued all my uniform. However, at my station you have to do 60 hours of coached patrol before being able to do anything else. I completely understand this as its one to one tuition designed to increase confidence and allow new MSCs to have some idea of what they're doing. The only problem is that all but one of my MSC managers have been deployed to the Olympics and now coached patrols have pretty much stopped unit September. I was hoping to do as much as possible over the summer but now cannot do anything as I have to do coach patrol (which arn't running) and there are no PO 3 courses running…

Ladies and gents, In the ever eternal hope the MPS will recruit MSCs to PCs soon I have a couple of questions: 1 Those of you that have made it through the process did you get your choice if BCOU or did HR throw the dart at a map of London and that's where you went? 2 is there a return of service on the PLC? I.E if you got through the PLC and CTc and didn't like where you got posted could you say thanks but no thanks and part company with the MET 3 is the CTC 3 continuous weeks at your own expense or are the MET now paying you for it? The Heddlu Police are patrolling my area this morning, parked up in exactly the same spot I was patrolling after the riots last year. London seems to be welcoming officers from all over our great nation. Out and about I have seen: Cleveland South Yorks Merseyside West Midlands Heddlu of many different varieties Kent I really like the cutural differences too, loads of different national dress to be seen from crisp white shirts to black compression layers. The language barrier can be quite difficult but together we can overcome! What are the most exotic visitors you have seen?

Anybody on here got their day 1 assessment on September 13th at 13:00

Hi all! New to this forum! Just wanted to know if anyone else completed there day 2 assessment towards end of May for the MSC and whether or not they have heard anything since in regards to a training date. Im currently waiting for my vetting to clear and just wanted a general idea of how long it took? Also am I right in believing that there will be no intensive training courses until September, after the Olympics etc... I saw a couple of posts with people saying they had training dates for August, but I think they may be different training options, weekend courses etc... Really looking forward to starting my training! Thanks all.

Hi I'm new to this, and came for some advice or tips. I'm 18years old and currently in the Air Training Corps (Air Cadets) as a sergeant, and have my day 1 on the 13th September at 13:00 for the special constable role. I was just wondering what the structured day is going to be like, and if there's any role play that is involved in the assessment. I have written out all my answers for the 5 competencies questions all related to actual life experiance, but still feeling very nervous as I'm not sure what to expext, and what the interviewers really want to hear...Any tips or advice would be really appreciated, Thanks.

Got my first Olympic aid shift Wednesday. Any tips ????

Hey guys. I believe you guys at the MSC have followed the NPIA's advice (according to wiki) and changed from grade titles to rank titles. Such as from Sub Divisional Officer to Special Sergeant. On your met vests it states your a police officer and your name and rank, do the name badges say Special Sergeant etc?
