I got a reply today from the met. They said 'you application is on hold re your tattoos. Have you sent in your tattoo pictures'. I dont understand. I sent in the photos as asked with the initial application and passed the sift and day 1. I replied yes i have sent them in. Does anyone know what on hold means? Does it mean whilst being reviewed or the application is stopped?

I heard somewhere along the wire that MSC now get free travel on the Emirates Air Line cable car and Thames clipper boats Is this true, or just idle banter? Many Thanks.

Im an officer with 10 years experience, working in one of the home counties. I am an Authorised Firearms Officer, and work on one of our ARV's. I am eager to join MetPol as soon as possible, hopefully transferring straight into a firearms job there. My aim is to end up on SO14. So, has anyone heard anything about when the Met are going to start accepting transferee's again? Is it even possible to transfer straight into Firearms? (taking note I am already an AFO) Thanks all

Wanting to see if this is a general issue so I can order a PJ style baton holder, or if it's just my holder. Basically, over time my baton seems to force itself further and further into my baton holder until the point where it literally is jammed in and takes a couple of minutes to get it out. It isn't what you want en route to a suspects on, struggling with your baton holder to make sure you can access it if you need it. Also, when it is stuck in this position, a light footchase ends up with the baton racking itself out the bottom of the holder and still stuck in.

All, The mods and I have after a pow wow decided that after at least 4 years of having the same password we're going to rotate it. Many people come and go over a time period like that. To that end if you want to still have access and your username starts with the following: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, send a PM to SBG I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, send a PM to MXL160 Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y or Z, send a PM to WhatAmIDoing (I get extra as there aren't many X or Z) This will happen no earlier than the 1st of May. Please send your name, met email and shoulder number in the PM Cheers, Your Mini Mod team The change will be around 26th May

Got this from my sergeant this morning, it's from commissioner yesterday A Police Constable from Wandsworth asked: I have many friends in the MSC. On their behalf, I wonder are you able to advise regarding the situation with recruitment at the moment. In particular, what are your plans for MSC to PC recruitment. Do you know what process this will follow? Many thanks. Response: We are currently considering a proposal to run an MSC to PC recruitment in the Autumn. However you will be aware that there are financial challenges that we need to have a clearer view on before we can definatley confirm this.

Apologies if this topic is somewhere else but I had a look and couldn't find much info. I'm currently training to be a special (will be finished next Friday, can't wait!) but I have also completed my Day 1&2 for DDO's and am awaiting a training date. A couple of weeks ago I had to send back my posting preferences as they had changed since I first applied in August, and following a phone call to Recruitment, I was told that they were currently placing people on the last DDO course before the summer, which begins in May, and that I would hear back if I'm put on that course. I was just wondering if anybody had any further information than this, or if there is anybo…

Quick question need to pick the Brains of those in the know. I know SIA/security staff are excluded from the MSC. However are existing MSC officers excluded from applying for a SIA licence? I'm thinking of doing some security work on the side.

Ladies and Gents, I'm after a bit of advice regarding working in a police staff role. Basically I'm currently working towards my IPS as a Special for the Met with the desire to become a regular when able. However, I've still got a lot to do so I probably won't be able to apply during the next recruitment drive within the Met. I've also been offered a position as a Comms Officer also with the Met starting in November. Although I've been informed that the Met could possibly block an internal PC application for up to two years. I've also recently been invited for an interview with the BTP for a job as a DDO. That would mean there is no conflict between working as a …

Hi all, I've just had an email through this morning saying that I need to contact one or more of my references as they haven't returned my reference yet. Problem is I don't know which one it is, is there a quick way to contact them to find out ? I tried the recruitment line, they didn't have access to it, I've emailed them back and am still waiting on a reply. I'm getting a bit antsy as I don't want to have come this far and it all fall apart at the very last hurdle (suppose to start training on the 1st). Any help will be more than appreciated. Cromwell.
