Just watched Channel 4 - Coppers. Following video at 15:30 - 16:30 looks odd. My link . The officer is acting like a 'THUG' there pushing the guy away. Acceptable in Metropolitan Police? Don't think so.

What the hell? Has anyone else seen a load of these appear on borough, I'm worried we are loosing marked vehicles for these. My borough has a crazy amount of main roads and as such a high number of RTC's, how can an unmarked car provide a fend off. For those who haven't seen them they are plain silver with the corporate logo on the side but no livery, no blue lights / rear reds etc... TJIF

Hi all, Happy new year to you all! I attested yesterday, was a really good experience to finally get the warrant card! Sorry if this has been covered before, I've had a look through but can't find anything specific about it. I have my first induction day next Friday with my borough. I understand that you need to complete a certain amount of NCALT packages before you are 'released on the streets'. I know that certain topics need to be completed at a station, but can we access the others from home? And how do you go about doing so? I've looked at the NCALT.com website, but I got a bit lost... Any info would be much appreciated, many thanks!

I see on MSC online a new MSC Sgt -> Insp process is to commence in January. Anyone eligible / going to apply for this? If the Met has any substantive S/Sgts left after the recent recruitment drive that is

What it says on the tin really. What is your opinion, despite it being early days with only two intakes so far? How do you feel it compares to your route in?

Dear all, Has anyone seen this and can anyone make sense of it. 700 officers in 3months... Where from? And 160 transferees takes the Michael out of all those specials who have been told : the only way into the met is to be a special. Hmm feeling a touch disgruntled.... http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-24031631-more-police-are-good-news-for-london.do Is this just made from PCSOs awaiting a start date. Hmmm. The fuller article.... http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard/article-24031613-met-recruits-700-new-officers-to-patrol-the-streets.do

Hi, I am currently applying to become a Designated Detention Officer and a Special Constable. I was wondering once I have started my DDO job would I be able to get ESP straight away? and how does it work? On the Met Special Constable website it says I will get 2 days special leave off every fortnight. So does this mean if I normally do 10 DDO shifts every fortnight, I will do 8 DDO shifts and 2 Special Constable shifts but be paid for 10 DDO shifts? and if this is correct would this come out of my annual leave? Also, if a PC recruitment campaign started, would this restrict me from applying? Thank You

Just passed day 2 and excitment is kicking in. What Borough though? I want somewhere local because I don't drive and if I end up doing a night shift I want to be able to get home. I've considered Brent but then do I really want to be working my own borough? not really. So when you select a borough how does it work in regards to the station you would be working from? Thanks in advance

I need to send an email to <snip> who works for the Met. If someone could find out what her email is and PM it to me I'd be much obliged. I presume there is more to it than just her name and '@met.police.uk', which is why I ask

Hello Everyone, I am applying as a Special Constable and have my day 1 assessment in February which I am extremely excited about - this will be my second time around as I had failed previously for Herts Constabulary on the written test by 1 mark!!! (gutted). I thought I would start a thread off letting you know my stages (hopefully it will not just be this one post) - I'm hoping to pass this time around as I feel I now know what to expect and feel I will be better equipped to deal with it. I have my day one for the Met in February. Anyone gone through the Met who can give me a heads up? There is just one question - I just wanted to know as I have previously applied fo…

Quick question. Do we have the power of entry under RTA 1988 for non injury accidents?? Or is it only for injury accidents? The white notes isn't too clear on this. Cheers
