Can anyone help my aging memory and remind me where the Mounted Branch stables were located (when there were lots of them) back in the early to mid 1980s? I remember Cannon Row; Brixton; East Dulwich; Bow Road, but then I'm struggling!

So i've heard a bit about RO officers being able to go out on deployments with CW officers and such. I'm after a bit more information about how RO work with CW. Can RO officers volunteer for CW events such as film premiers etc. I'm slightly in the dark and would like to be enlightened. :D Thanks.

Due to start the intensive course on January 3rd - can't wait! (although hoping to be well over the New Year's hangover by then!) Anyone else signed up? Know whether we need to have proper boots from the get-go or will regular shoes do (along with smart-business attire)? Was thinking the class could do a bit of brainstorming as to the best boots to buy/other necessary bits and pieces - as we might get a bulk discount!!

I'm sure this has been discussed here before, but could this be used in a "non-badger sense"? GD or Locker room, I'm not sure.

I saw a police motorcade today with marked landrovers escorting a dilapidated looking minibus. The officers in the landrovers had hi-vis jackets with what looked like body armour over it so only the sleeves were hi-vis. When was that allowed uniform!

Random question as I'm curious. I remember back about a year or so ago there always used to be two or three motorbikes, think they are F650s like the one here, in the back yard of FH nick with Safer Transport markings on them, but they never seemed to move. Saw one out the other day as well. What unit are these from, as I'm pretty sure RRT just use the R1200 traffic bikes in battenburg?

Hi, I've found that I'll be joining a safer transport team as a new PC at the end of this month, and I was just wondering if anyone here is on a team or has been on one recently? I just wanted to know a little bit more about them, like what sort of work the regulars do other than RPI jobs, the shift patterns etc. I've done a few of the RPI jobs as a special, and a couple of plain clothes ops, though I think those were part of the STC rather than borough STT, but other than that, I don't really know much about STT at all. Hi all. New here. I am coming towards the end of my MSC to PC training and off to Redbridge - JI. I have been told what team I am on, but have not been given a rota as of yet. I am not in a major rush (or I would have called or popped in there) but in order to make some plans (which i would like to do tonight) I was wondering if anybody has the JI response team rota with them that can send me a copy please or advise me on a date please.? Bonjour, I am due to start CW at the end of Dec as a reg and was wondering what you guys could tell me about it. I know there are threads on being a special on the borough but im after info on being a reg. I know i do a few weeks street duties and another few weeks on ORB then off to team,snt,stt or wherever, but was just wondering if there was any more light people can shed on the borough from the point of view of a reg. I suspect there is a lot of aid requirements being in the heart of london which i like as im a fan of public order work and hope for level2 in the future,

Hi everyone I’m about to apply to become a Met Special and would really appreciate hearing everyone’s comments and experiences of working as a Special in the borough of Islington. I’m interested in applying to other north London boroughs as well, but to keep these posts manageable, I’ll post a separate message for each one. The aspects of Islington I’d like to know more about are – What are the typical duties Specials usually get involved with in Islington? Is it mostly ‘rowdy bus’ patrols, SNT activities, supporting PCSOs or ‘other’? How much contact do Specials usually have with Regulars on duty? I’m keen to be assigned to those wit…
