Hi, I've just attested as a special and I'm doing my induction with my unit on Wed. What I was wondering is can I go into the CRIS room at Hendon to apply to be a DDO? The recruitment website says that internal applicants need to apply through their page on the intranet. If not where else could I log onto a terminal to apply? Cheers, Dom

Hi Guys, I have just had the gutting news that I did not pass my Day 1 - I am absolutely gutted. My e-mail say's that i passed the written but narrowly missed the pass in the interview, because I nearly reached the Standard I will be invited back to interview in the future, I wont need to take the written again nor will I need to do any Paperwork. Just wondered if anyone had any experience of anything like this and does this mean I am looking at six months or do they mean in a months time I will be asked to go an re-interview ? Hi all I attended the support presentation today at Hendon. I found it really useful and informative. I haven't actually had my invite to Day 1 Assessment as yet nor heard I have passed the paper sift stage, it's coming up to 4 weeks since I applied, so I will give it a week and give recruitment a call. I heard of 2 or 3 people who received the email for Day 1 whilst they were at Hendon today, but not me! They did say it can take 6 weeks to get a date and if it gets to 8 weeks to give them a call. But I can't wait that long! One thing I thought of after was in the competency interview, is it frowned upon if you only manage to talk for say 2 - 3 mins when giving you answ…

Anyone on this forum has any good insight with what will happen post 2012, saw a lot of rumours on this site about a poss 2 yr recruitment freeze, however many of the staff at hendon seem to think that there are 3000 due to reitre post olympics, and a lot of officers who havnt officialy given in their notice yet, but will when olympics end

Evening 'all, Just a quick post to congratulate all the fine new Specials who were attested today up at Hendon. (there were quite a few of us tonight!) To everyone, that is Classes 5A thru to 5K = Congratulations everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Say if I had a crown court warning for next week: For example 7th to 11th, week long, And the warning has under 'time': Subject to overnight Confirmation, What does this mean? Also this is a early warning, what does this mean? JS

You give a PND for Section 5, once it is written up, put in a casefile with statements etc is it given over to CPU to process? Also I believe you need to call someone to have something added to the offenders PNC? Could anyone shine some light on what you do once you have issued and written up the PND? Normally its taken off of me by a reg but Im keen to be competent in the process myself from start to finish.

The last class of Specials -> PC seem to be finishing of their PLC and getting on borough, so do we know what's happening going forward? Saw a Met police officer badge out in 1st class today. Guard didn't even bat an eyelid! I'm surprised people still get away with it.

When we finished training at Barkingside the other week we was told that we would get our shoulder numbers when attesting @ Hendon. Someone from my class has just called one of the Barkingside trainers as she was told by someone else that we should have the numbers prior to Hendon. They are now saying that it may be a problem with regards to being attested
