This is the most successful e-petition to date with 78,000 signatures so far! I will certainly be joining them. Why should we as taxpayers have to contribute to those who have destroyed property, stolen from their community and shown a disregard for the country that provides for them. http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitio ... state=open _________________

At the weekend for the first time I went with a friend to the War and Peace show at Paddock Wood near to Maidstone, The show for the most part seems to comprise a variety of Army Surplus and old vehicle lovingly restored by there owners, along with lots of tanks, landrovers and other militaria and collectables. What really surprised me was the number of walts dressed in a variety of military uniform strutting around the site, there was just about every uniform from a wide variety of era's from WW2 to current. I have to say I was concerned with the large number of stalls selling German NAZI items which ranged from flags and arm bands to badges and a variety of bladed wea…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2026239/UK-riots-Tear-sentencing-guidelines-jail-EVERY-looter-magistrates-told.html Magistrates have been ordered to send all those involved in last week's riots and looting to jail, a court heard today. Chair of the bench at Camberwell Green Magistrates Court, Novello Noades, revealed the instructions while sentencing one looter to six months in prison. London courts had allegedly been emailed by a clerk within HM Courts and Tribunals Service, telling them to ignore normal guidelines which might have recommended non-custodial sentences for riot-related cases. Send them down: A judge at Camberwell Court in south London said it…

Following all the stories and news on TV this week, I see that there is a lot of debate regarding the Looters and Rioters. if they have been involved in a crime then they should feel the extent of the law. Yes, I totally agree. But then what happens afterwards ? how do we re-habilitate these young offenders ? How about a boot camp style summer school? or is this too harsh in todays day and age? there were TV series about 'Ladette to Lady'.... and other similar type programmes where troublemakers were sent to a strict school/environment and trained up into something more respectable. Maybe we can have something similar? with the TV money going to pay for the damage th…

After watching Dragons Den it got me thinking, will there be anymore big, history changing inventions? Things like the car, mobile phones, the internet and the world wide web. Everything now seems evolutionary rather than revolutionary. The next big thing in my opinion will be spaceflight.

Source Clicky I must say, it does sound like a good scheme, the e-petitions. Do you think 100,000 or more people will sign an e-petition to reintroduce the death penalty? And then it would obviously have to be debated and voted for in Parliament. Edit: Added last sentence.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/06/24/politics/main20074199.shtml (Story credits; Associated Press/CBS News New York) Well this is good, step in the right direction, if the largest state in the most recognised and powerful countries legalises gay marriage it might help elsewhere int he world. However, I bet Texas never legalises it. Naturally the some of the (Ignorant) Americans are revolting and comparing it to illegal smoking in NY, but they can't change it now! What do you think, right or wrong? I think it's right, why should some outdated, outmoded opinions stop two people who love each other being united together.

A policeman in 1939, who looked after the then village of Wavenden for 25 years, was sacked because his village patrol had no crime, it has been revealed. Harry Jackman, who earned a guinea a year for his volunteer constable role, was left distraught when the parish council did away with his role to 'save money'. And now his unused truncheon, whistle and handcuffs during his 25 years on the beat is up for auction. A video shot in an Essex slaugherhouse apparently shows pigs being abused in the most horrific ways, as workers at Elmkirk Ltd (Cheale Meats) appear to stub out cigarettes on pigs’ faces, hit them with bats and drag the animals injured by their ears. Animal Aid claims their investigators at the plant filmed slaughtermen stubbing out cigarettes on pigs’ faces, injuring them with pincers, hitting them with sharp paddles and failing to stun them properly, so animals are strung up and sent to have their throats cut while still alive. In one scene, a pig is dragged into the stun pen by a pole in her mouth. Animal Aid said the animal was not stunned, but shackled, hoisted…

http://www.dailytele...9-1226107599334 POLICE are trying to defuse a bomb strapped to a teenage girl at a multimillion dollar house at Burrawong Avenue in Mosman. Assistant police commissioner Mark Murdoch tonight described the situation as a "very serious and sensitive matter". "We are still treating the suspicious package as live," he said. "I can't confirm whether it is strapped to the woman involved but she is still in the vicinity of the device." When asked whether the girl could move away from the bomb, Mr Murdoch said: "No, she can't get away from it." The woman is cooperating with police and bomb squad officers to defuse the device. Mr Murdoch said police h…

Motorists cannot get a new driving licence from tomorrow unless they answer a question about whether they want to donate their organs after death. Critics argue the move could be the first step towards organ donation becoming compulsory, and last night Tory MP Peter Bone described the measure as 'Big State gone mad'. If successful, the initiative could be extended to those seeking to renew their passports. In an attempt to help reduce waiting times for transplant patients, all drivers applying online for a new or replacement licence will have to answer a question about whether they want to join the Organ Donor Registry. Until now, answering the question has been optional…
