http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-edinburgh-east-fife-13918842 I'd be quite interested to hear what the "outside influence" means. Was he misled and unaware in some way? It sounds is if there's a vital piece of the jigsaw missing here. :D

Is anyone from A & S working this years Glastonbury ? I would be interested to know your experiences and the sort of incidents you have had to deal with and how much support you get from the locals and visitors. I looked at the A & S web site and there is not much mention of arrests, the only bit of news has been the unfortunate death of a visitor reported on sky news and the BBC. Wondered if anyone has policed any other festivals ? and how you enjoyed the experience ?

A wise decision by the parole board. Jon Venables, one of the killers of James Bulger, has been denied parole. The three-member Parole Board chaired by a judge has made its decision, which has been communicated to Venables, the Bulger family and the secretary of state. Venables was aged 10 when he and friend Robert Thompson murdered two-year-old James Bulger in Merseyside in 1993. The toddler was beaten with bricks and iron bars and his body left on a railway line. Venables was jailed for two years in July 2010 after pleading guilty to downloading and distributing indecent images of children. James's mother, Denise Fergus, wrote on Twitter: "good news all just heard…

A ROYAL Marine killed by a Taliban bomb left £100,000 to send all his mates to Las Vegas. David Hart, 23, took out life insurance before he went to Afghanistan. And he wrote a letter saying a chunk of the £250,000 policy proceeds should pay for his pals and their girlfriends to go on a party trip in his memory if he died. Now 32 friends are jetting to the US - a year after David died in the Helmand danger spot of Sangin. 'Perfect Marine' ... hero David HartKippa Matthews / Barcroft Media Pal Andy Hare, 25, said: "He loved going away with his mates - it was always the best two weeks of the year. They were lads' holidays and great times." Construct…

I think I am getting to old to work in a school, as there seems to be an increase in these blueberries or is it blackberry? Using a feature called "BBM" and sending indecent pictures of their self mostly girls! And then complaining the boys have sent them on. Ooh and don't get me going on this Facebook. In my day there was no sort of thing. Has anyone else noticed an increase in this two systems!

http://www.bbc.co.uk...gazine-13874089 Some eight million gallons of treated drinking water have been flushed down the drain in the US state of Oregon after a man urinated into a reservoir. Did such a vast amount of water have to be dumped? "Nobody wants to drink pee, and I don't want to deal with the 100 people who would be unhappy that I'm serving them pee in their water." Those are the words of David Shaff, a water bureau official in Oregon's biggest city Portland, after flushing away 32 million litres of water. They decided to take the drastic action after security cameras caught a 21-year-old man urinating into an uncovered reservoir. The water had already been p…

Just watched it and think it is one of the best, least edited documentries I have seen for a while. Gave a real insight into what our boys experience on the front line. If only all the police doc's were abit less edited and abit more honest about what we face day to day on the front line, rather than showing the glamourous side of the job.

When I was thinking about joining as a Special Constable 4 years ago, the help this forum provided was inestimable. I am considering applying to a secondary school teaching post grad course; is there any forums similar to this one? Thanks!
