A Russian man who tried to rob a hair salon ended up as the victim when the female shop owner overpowered him, tied him up naked and then used him as a sex slave for three days. Viktor Jasinski, 32, admitted to police that he had gone to the salon in Meshchovsk, Russia, with the intention of robbing it. But the tables turned dramatically when he found himself overcome by owner Olga Zajac, 28, who happened to be a black belt in karate. She allegedly floored the would-be robber with a single kick. Then, in a scene reminiscent of Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction, police say Zajac dragged the semi-conscious Jasinski to a back room of the salon and tied him up with a hair dr…

Britain's coastguards would be replaced by a new pan- European fleet under 'harmonisation' plans which would see their life-saving work being taken over by an EU coastguard corps emblazoned with the Brussels logo. The news comes just days after Transport Secretary Philip Hammond performed a partial U-turn on cutting the number of currently operating Coastguard centres from 19 to eight, with just three remaining open 24 hours a day. After an outcry over the safety risks, he told the Commons last week that 11 centres will remain, all of which will be operational 24 hours a day. Under the Brussels plan, which will be voted on by the European Parliament in October, an EU Coas…

One small step. But for Gordon Parsons, thefoot-high drop from the front door of his house to the garden path was a step too far. Confined to a wheelchair with multiple sclerosis, the 65-year-old from Watford relies on a mobility ramp so he can get out and about. Then, three weeks ago, in broad daylight, thieves brazenly stole the sloping 10ft-long metal ramp to sell as scrap. And ever since Gordon has been a prisoner in his own home. 'I can't put into words the angerand disgust I feel,' he says. His wife Sue is equally aghast. 'Stealing from the disabled?' she says. 'It's just callous. Whoever took it must haveknown what it was for. Are there any depths to which people…

Firefighters had only just evacuated the 30 residents from their properties when the huge blast happened and one of the houses was engulfed in flames. The footage has been released as a warning about the dangers of stealing copper wire and tampering with electricity and gas supplies. A spokesman said a piece of cable had been cut from an overhead line which affected the earthing of the electrical network in the area and re…

Iris Scanners Create the Most Secure City in the World. Welcome, Big Brother We've all seen and obsessively referenced Minority Report, Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Philip K. Dick's dystopian future, where the public is tracked everywhere they go, from shopping malls to work to mass transit to the privacy of their own homes. The technology is here. I've seen it myself. It's seen me, too, and scanned my irises. Biometrics R&D firm Global Rainmakers Inc. In a partnership with Leon -- one of the largest cities in Mexico, with a po…

The first full research on the speed camera regime under the last government has revealed how more than 17million motorists were hit with fixed penalty fines.
