Interesting video, spotted whilst browsing YouTube.... In 2010, the simmering debate about U.S. immigration reform exploded when Arizona's Senate Bill 1070 was signed into law. A portion of the bill requires police, during the enforcement of a law, to ask for someone's identification if that person is thought to be in the country illegally. "What Would You Do?" decided to travel to Arizona. They installed hidden cameras at BK Carne Asada and Hotdogs, a popular restaurant in Tucson, and hired actors to portray an off-duty security guard and a Latino customer. Later, host John Quinones, who is Hispanic, went undercover to see how restaurant patrons would react when he was…

I have smoked from the age of 16 until the age of 33. (Just over a month ago). That is half my life. Having managed to quit and seeing how easy it was, I started thinking. Why doesn't the government just ban smoking and tobacco products all together? But it won't and the facts speak for themselves: - It makes £10.5bn (2010)1 in taxes from tobacco products - It spent £145m in 2010, trying to help people quit smoking.2 - It spends approximately £5bn in smoking related health care issues. (2009)3 So, even though it is spending over £5bn in smoking related costs, it is still making more than £5bn in profit from the population slowly killing itself. Should the governmen…

In my day job I'm a A&E lead nurse, we are told we can restrain, use force to protect our selfs and patients. We have just had a 16 year old A&E front desk, the other two can do the above but he can't is there a rule for this? As I'm sure you all know about the amount of abuse we get but when we do use self defence we get the stick. What's the law behind it?

Crikey - it's all happening round my way lately. Woman Dies As Car Is Hit By Fire Engine A woman has been killed in Essex after her car was involved in a crash with a fire engine responding to an emergency call. The collision happened in Basildon as the firefighters made their way to another road crash where an 11-year-old child was trapped in a car. An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were called to a road traffic crash at 9am on Broadmayne, Basildon. "Two vehicles were involved, a fire engine and another car. You couldn't make this up!!!! Private security firm G4S has sacked two members of staff who tagged a man's false leg allowing him to remove it and break a court-imposed curfew. The pair were fooled by Christopher Lowcock, 29, who wrapped the prosthetic limb in a bandage when G4S set up the system at his Rochdale home. He was then able to remove the limb and break a curfew imposed for offences involving drugs, driving and a weapon. G4S sacked the pair for committing a serious disciplinary offence, it said. In a statement the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) said procedures "were clearly not followed in this case and G4S have taken action against the staff involved". "Two th…

requiescat in pace John. The only man who could honestly say he was on the balcony! A true symbol of the boldness who is now re-united with his son Serjeant Paul McAleese who was killed in Afghanistan, 2009. Ex-SAS soldier John McAleese, who led the raid that ended the 1980 siege at Iran's embassy in London, has died. Mr McAleese, who was in his early 60s, died on Friday in Thessaloniki, Greece, the Foreign Office said. The former sergeant led the team which blew out the building's windows and rescued 24 hostages from gunmen. His daughter said he had been reunited with his son, a soldier killed in Afghanistan. "Two great heroes taking their place in heaven," she sa…

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2030918/Traffic-lights-turn-green-Olympic-chiefs-ordinary-drivers-forced-bus-lanes.html Is this serious? Ok.. So thats basically saying that VIP's at the Olympics will have priority over the roads and we have to move out of the way for them.. Thats absurd. What makes them so special that they cant sit in some traffic like the rest of us?? Why do they need to get to places so urgently? Does anyone think these people have any priority? They are not exactly an emergency service... /rant
