Edward Heath and James Callaghan are being honoured with memorial stones at Westminster. Frankly I find this astounding. I think it goes to show what short memories we all have that two of the most destructive PMs ever, Heath and the EU and the 3-day week and miners' strike, and Callaghan with the Winter of Discontent, are being honoured in this way. This is worrying. If this is anything to go by, I can see Blair being honoured in the same way in 30 years. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17520092.

Reply-to-all fail: Total Fitness gym boss calls customer an ‘idiot’ and copies him into email A gym manager has quit after facing disciplinary action for calling a customer an ‘idiot’ in an email. Customer Graham Gillespie, a police sergeant and keep fit fanatic, wrote to two Total Fitness branches asking for information about fees. He was stunned when he received an abusive email the same day saying: “Out of principle I will not join this idiot.” The manager who wrote it is understood to have thought he replying to the boss of the other branch – only to copy in Graham by mistake. He was disciplined by Total Fitness and now no longer works for them. The company also …

I recently spent a weekend in West Yorkshire with friends, we decided to travel to Bronte Country and the village of Howarth, as we turned into a small car park at the top of the main street to park we witnessed a couple of guys in civies applying wheel clamps to a number of cars in the car park. As soon as we seen this we turned out of the car park without stopping and parked on the public road on the edge of the village walking back past the same car park, there must have been 8 vehicles clamped and to be honest the same 2 guys were sitting in a white van no doubt waiting for the owners of the cars to come back and pay the fine, The cars must have belonged to tourists …

NHS trust row with catering firm over chocolate mousse An NHS Trust which tried to deduct more than £80,000 from its catering bill because of a day-old chocolate mousse has been criticised by a judge. In total, the Mid Essex Hospital Services trust tried to withhold more than £700,000 from private catering firm Medirest, the High Court heard. Mr Justice Cranston said the deductions, including for three-day old bagels, were "patently absurd". Neither party could win damages claims after their contract ended, he said. Relationship 'poisoned' In April 2008, Medirest won a multimillion-pound contract to supply meals at St John's and Broomfield hospitals in Essex for sev…

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-17564775 I never had much time for Galloways brand of politics, even less so when I saw him a few weeks ago on the daily politics telling us how we should hand the Falklands over to Argentina against the wishes of the isnalders simply to improve relations with south america! However if there is a plus side here is is that if Galloway can take a safe Labour seat then surely UKIP can take some Tory seats and make them think again about europe! Oh and for anyone who didn't see it.......would you like me to be the cat?

An interesting article from The Independent. The whole idea of Scotland becoming closer to Scandinavia is quite laughable really, almost like England saying it wants to become one with the Iberian Peninsula. But if the Scottish want independence I say let them, it will be better for England in particular and may even pave the way for Welsh independence. Thoughts?

The Royal Mail business model doesn't appear to be sustainable but I doubt very many people affected by this will see it that way.
