Warning: Link contains graphic images Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/10/16/chinese-boy-racer-body-left-street_n_4108222.html What are your thoughts on this? I personally don't agree with the idea of leaving somebody's body in the street as a warning message, no matter the reasoning for it.

http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/health-24537304 I can see this having a real impact and additional strain on the Police. See the example given a little way into this Report. Looks like the whole issue surrounding the Polices' involvement with Mental Health issues such as 136 etc is going to get worse before it improves. The Mental Health side of the NHS has sadly always been seen as the "Cinderella" of the NHS, and it's an absolute disgrace in my opinion. If you or I were to break an arm, we might have to wait in A & E, but would eventually be seen and treated. However for a Mental Illness, it's a whole different story. Facebook is binning a feature that lets people retain their anonymity on the social network. The retirement of the "Who can look up your Timeline by name?" privacy setting was announced by the company on Thursday. It means anyone can find the profile of someone else through the search bar. People used to be able to make themselves disappear from the search functions built into the site, and hide their presence on the network to strangers by modifying the setting. Facebook had removed the feature for everyone that hadn't turned it on late last year, and now is erasing it for those who opted in as well. If users are affected by this, Facebook suggests they retain a se…

A judge has refused to let a Muslim woman in a full-length burka enter a plea until she reveals her face. The 21-year-old from Hackney, who is charged with intimidating a witness, said she could not remove the veil in front of men because of her religion. Judge Peter Murphy said however, she could not stand trial in the veil, which only reveals her eyes, because her identity could not be confirmed. The woman is due back at Blackfriars Crown Court on 12 September. Judge Murphy said the principle of open justice overrode the woman's religious beliefs, warning that a different person could go into the dock pretending to be her if she did not show her face. 'Open justice…

I've put this here because I'd like to keep this relatively serious, so please don't move it. Below is a new employee handbook for people who join Valve. For people who don't know this company, they are a multi billion dollar company making computer games and platforms such as Steam. http://newcdn.flamehaus.com/Valve_Handbook_LowRes.pdf Although they are a big company with many hundreds of employees, they are not like most companies. Below are some of the key features: There are no managers. Not even the founder manages anyone. There are no job titles. You need to be multidisciplinary with a range of skills. People choose their own work. They work on projects …
