Biteback Publishing So who is going to get a copy then? - I know I will. Latest update from David via twitter is that the book "has been passed by libel lawyers only few changed have been made to protect the guilty..." (his words) and release date is July 4th with pre-order via Amazon now.

In response to the thread "Shocking video" posted by 'peck06' I suggest that you watch the following footage which wasn't broadcast at the time for legal reasons; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49ZzIJygo14 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFcaFukX7W4 There is also a reconstruction. She stabbed a man to death days after being released from hospital and court before jumping from a bridge above the A50 (and surviving).

Hi everyone, I have recently applied to BTP and it's a job I really want. The problem is I've just been informed that the training is in London, Mon-Fri, and is possibly residential. This has been confirmed by recruitment. I live in the North East and I have 3 children (2, 7 &13) and I'm a single parent. I know it's rather premature to be thinking about something that may not happen but I'm really quite gutted that I may be offered a job that I can't train for. Has anyone else had this problem and perhaps found a way around it? Cheers

Just found this video on youtube, I think this is the best place to post it (move it ifits not). I'm not easily shocked but I'm shocked not only at the situation but there was a cameraman in the right place at the right time to capture it all! What do you guys think. My face currently looks like this  Apologies if this has been posted before.... Cant seem to embed the video, so this link will have to do.

Hi, So I'm going to rant and rave a bit, but the end result is I want to see what (as officers and civys) how you lot feel about this as well. Today I was reading through a news paper when I came across a story about a Met Police Officer who had recently been in trouble regarding neglect against police dogs and although what he did wasn't the right thing to do it does unfortunately happen. OK it's fair enough to let the public know that what happened, happened, BUT it was like they was ripping into the guy about what he did, and then mentioning that he tried to commit suicide and was sectioned, all of this based on a witness saying "it look liked he slashed his wrists"…

Hi all, I was at Thorpe Park yesterday and noticed majority of the security staff had, stab vests, high vis tac vests and hand cuffs. They looked VERY much like police.. My questions is.. are they allowed to have and use handcuffs? and what are your opinions on them allowing to use them? Tom

I have recently heard of a number of cases where prisoners have refused to leave there cell's to appear in court either for trial or sentence, the latest case reported in the media involved a male who refused to leave his cell at HMP Chelmsford and appear at Bournemouth Crown Court in relation to Fraud. Woman prison officer hanged herself after inmate she left husband for 'stole £6,000 from her account and posed on Facebook with wads of cash' It seems wrong that inmates and prisoners some how can refuse to appear before a crown court for sentence, if you were on bail and refused to appear in court then you would likely be arrested and produced in court, so why if your…

At work we have recently received an e-mail from our Federation Chairman stating it's time for us to start writing to our MPs and attending MPs surgeries (this'd be ok if they held them after midnight, after all i'm asleep during the day). I just wondered how many people are actually doing things to fight our corner (letters to MPs, emails etc), or if (like me so far) you've all been relying on the toothless Federations to do it for you...? I haven't heard of anyone at work contacting their MP however i'm sure i've heard them all moaning about the proposed cuts and changes to pay and conditions!

I was on facebook and someone posted a link saying report this group because it is child porn, I am on here to report it because it is sick and should be taken off the internet and hopefully, a police officer, on here can do something? I have already rang my local police station and they said they will get back in touch, but that could take a while?

3 for me.. 1 - The old grab onto their legs and raise yourself off the ground and dig in your heels to control a kicker. 2 - I actually put an unconcious bloke in the recovery position and pinched his ears 3 - Saw my regular beatbuddy use the uncompliant handcuff twist to the floor move.
