Two months ago at work I was interviewed by two plain clothed police officers... They were talking to me about something to do with MI5? How they'd received evidence that I had in my possession classified documents and they were sent to me to check it out. I asked for ID and they showed me some plastic looking ID cards with a white/colour scheme and a photo of them. I took their numbers that were on the card but never chased it up. After thinking about it today I'm not actually happy with how the interview went and feel I was "pushed" in to something without being able to think or consult anyone before hand... But then I was thinking if it had something to do with MI5, …

Yesterday i was on the M25, and in the middle lane.. Driver in front was doing between 55-60 w/ nothing ahead. Cars on the right were flying past, and more importantly, cars on the left also were. I wanted to over take but there was a constant stream of traffic going past and when i did briefly go in that lane it took me well over 70 which i didnt want to be doing.. So i had a decision of undertake.. or sit tight and just wait for a chance to over take. I kept having to brake because this person in front was so slow and even when i wasn't accelerating i would be moving towards them.. So is that an offence, to be driving so slow that your holding people up and causin…

Colleagues within West Yorkshire, Im thinking of transering to West Yorkshire Special Constabulary, probably the nearest place to me would be Pontefract, Normanton & Castleford nicks. I am keen to know what it is like in WYPOL do you get to drive vehicles or mainly foot patrol, are you mainly doubled up with regs or independent to patrol alone or double crewed with another special constable. Which stations would you say are the best ones to go too. Currently a Special Sergeant with 8 years service so very much independent and use to patrol alone and in vehicles/foot. Anything any you could add would be good.

I'm about 2/3 through my training at the moment and at the weekend I got my first taste of CS-- literally. Not at all pleasant but I can think of worse things! What are people's experiences of being exposed to it on duty? E.g. how frequently, how do you react to it, how do you find subjects reacting to it, etc.?

I realise the topic of stab vests and back ache has come up before, but I have yet to meet anybody who's experienced my specific problem. I've also tried adjusting my utility belt and have recently removed a bit of kit that always digs in to my back when sitting down. Wearing my stab vest and belt I'm fine and can do 10 or 11 hours and my back will feel alright. However just this morning (and many mornings before now) I've woken up with a terrible back ache, which quickly goes away once I get out of bed. Has anybody experienced this or have any idea why I feel fine whilst wearing the stab vest, yet not when I get up in the mornings? I can also go a week or two without we…

I already know that not all fantaastic officers are the fittest and I don't want to cause any sort of outrage - however what are peoples opinions on this..? I'm not in the police yet as I am not old enough but I have been looking at the fitness test and the required level to get in. In my particular force area you have to reach 5.4 on the bleep test and push/pull 60kg (I think it was...) I realise that I may be young and it will probably get difficult with age but do you not think this is a little too easy?? Looking at the standards of Australian/US/Canadian cops, their fitness has to be very good. I don't think it should be as intense as US, Aus etc but I think it shou…

Hello Officers, Just for the record I'm a RPI (Revenue Protection Inspector) For a rail firm in the South East. I am 100% aware of all relevant Police Officer/Staff travel rules in the area in which I cover. Today I was working at a Rail station in uniform when I was approached by a male who "Came from the street" (a term we use for people we have dealings with, mainly at ticket gates, who are not on a train or have not just got off a train) This Male showed me a badge and it had a black background with white lettering on it that had the letters S.O.C.A on it, he did not show any kind of photo-card/photo ID. he said to me... "Hi, I'm just meeting my wife who is com…

I submitted my application to become a Police Special about 8 weeks ago now, I reviewed my application so many times, but still made a mistake. The police force i applied for uses a drop down bar of all the education establishments, upon selecting mine, i attempted to scroll down the page, inadvertently selecting another uni. Sent an email in and hopefully it is now corrected. Was just wondering if any others have suffered similar misfortune... or is it just me.

How many hours do you do and what does it entail. i do around 50+ hours a week ( sad some may think ). its hard to explain to some regs how i put more hours in then what they do. i explain because im lucky how due to the budget cuts a regular tutor seems to have taken me under his wings so any chance i get to do a duty i bite peoples hands off. i want to become a valuable resource so i can assist regs in the best way possible so i make there life easy, so far im getting praise, yet however come across as a wired for doing so many hours. now i love the job so much and would do anything to get to become a regular. my question is; how do i explain this without sounding…
