As a result of this recent spate of disorder in the Capital, would it be a sensible idea to allow London's Notting Hill Carnival to go ahead this year? discuss..... Potentially you will have trouble makers involved in this disorder and looting from all four corners of London in a giant hotpot as well as trouble makers comming down from other parts of the UK to join in with the disorder which may be recipe for more serious violence, mayhem and put Police Officers, the public and businesses in the Notting Hill area and surronding at very serious risk.

Heard that Wandsworth Parks Police may be on the way out as there appears to be talks on about the Wandsworth Parks Police becoming park of the Met Police similar to the way in which the Royal Parks Police were absorbed in to the Met and formed a Royal Parks OCU. Be sad to see another one of the small non home office police forces going in to history. Kind of sad to see the possible end of Wandsworth Parks Police. C.

Hi All, Just thought it would be interesting to get people's opinion on this, and I know we're biased in this debate! Do you think the recent rioting across the country has highlighted and shown what the damage can be when reducing the budget so drastically to the emergency services? Had the police had the money and resources would it have made a huge difference to the "copycat" rioters across the country had increased resources been available to use on the first night? Be interesting to hear peoples opinion, even if it is that I'm talking nonsense Cheers.

Hi guys. A quick question. Does every incident you enter into your pocket book have to be entered onto the force computor or is it just for arrests where you have to write statements?

It seemed for a while there like there were a never-ending number of reviews going on into our terms and conditions with pretty savage cuts of 20% being touted. I had resigned myself to the fact that these cuts were coming in and our terms and conditions were going to be amended in favour of working more for less. The riots over the past few days, the requirement for mutual aid even from my own force which is in Scotland and Boris Johnston speaking out in light events against police cuts do you think the riots may benefit the Police in the long run by causing our budget, like the NHS, to be ring fenced? Not often "good" things for the police come out of incidents like t…

Am I the only person who is rapidly losing any faith in our PM? Before these riots started I was still of the opinion that out of the choices available Cameron was the best of the (fairly bad) bunch. But since he has come back from his holiday he has lost any credibility I had for him, his speeches have been weak, his actions have been weaker and he has tried to blame almost everyone but himself and his party for what has happened. The way things are at the moment I would feel more at ease if Arnold Schwarzenegger was running the country! Am i being overly harsh? or does anyone agree?

Hello everyone, I am a new recruit, I just got my warrant card a few days ago and I am very excited and looking forward to going out on my first shift next week. However, there are a few extra things I have been trying to find out about my warrant card. I been trying to see if there is a list of all the things I can and can not do with it, of course I know the important things about it but I wanted to know everything there is to it. For example: Does it effect when I go to the local Recycle Centre or when Parking... maybe day to day things... I am just trying to find out places I could use it if I wanted it to and places where it makes no difference. Thank you

I was just wondering the other day how you would address yourself as a special. Would you say "I'm Special Constable Chuck Norris" or "I'm PC Chuck Norris"?

There has been much talk and discussion in the news and various social networks about options available. Many have suggested that the army become involved, the use of rubber bullets and the use of water cannons. I don't know the legalities of any of these or other options that have been mentioned but would curious on other people's understanding of the law surrounding the potential use of these options. At this stage, I am not looking for a debate on the ethics of their use, just the legal side please.

Hi guys, I left work last night and on the way I spotted a black range rover flying down the road with red lights going. (identical to our blues, but just red alone) there didn't seem to be any retroflective markings on the vehicle and no ID either. Anybody have any idea at all what or who this might be?!

With the current climate in London and the Tottenham rioting, UK Policing is undoubtedly set for modernisation initiatives of some sort. Where do you see the British Police in say 2020?
