This goes against all advice of not using your warrant card while in a pub!

Just out of interest I wondered if anyone had experienced any bullying in their force by other officers and what happened, if any action taken? Or what anyone has done if they are teamed with an officer who does things that aren't necessarily 'right' or 'moral'? Not suggesting overall it is like that but fully aware their are good and bad employees in ANY profession and I just wondered if anyone had experienced anything like this at all and what they did if anything?

Hi everyone, I am new. I am training at the moment and enjoying it. But also a little nervous about it all at the same time, but I am sure I will toughen up in time. Anyone got advice for newbies? I have only just started my training. Not looking forward to the exams, KEE's. Do all you working guys remember everything you learnt still? Or do you find you have to look things up? I am worried I will forget it all by the time I 'graduate'. Thank you!!!!

Now the government had ordered forces to cancel all police leave, it got me wondering. What happens to a reg that has a family holiday booked in a day or two? Do they get the cost of the flights and hotels reimbursed? Do they get to reschedule their time off? although rebooking a holiday at short notice will probably cost more. Is there a cut off point, where if you were due to go on leave within the next say 48 hours, you still get it? Sorry, so many questions, which aren't really relevant to me anyway.

I bet some of you died a little inside when you saw the topic title :D I have noticed that PS.COM has a rather large proportion of "Should I get involved off duty" topics that pop up weekly. These can range from what to do about someone driving along next to you on their phone (See Here) to 10 year olds walking the street with guns (See Here). I thought perhaps it might be a good idea to have one topic to rule them all. Below I have posted some Do's and Don'ts of when to get involved and more importantly, when not to get involved! When to get involved off duty: - If you come accross an RTC and there are injuries and no other emergency services present. If it is safe,…

I can't believe what has happened this week. Terrible rioting, horrible deaths, and real problems with youth. However, the last 4 days has done more for Police PR and our reputation with the public than I would say in the past 25 years. People want to buy us pints, they are walking up to officers all over the country and thanking them, and most of all we as a force whether specials, pcsos, regulars and senior officers are all getting together. The Fed must be delighted that they can now say cuts are not to be tolerated with real evidence to support it. We'll always get a bad rep with the neds/scroats/scum of the earth but with the general public who'd been influenced by…

Sunday evening Question time erm... I was wondering today.... how long does it take for someone to go up a grade? you know... like from SC to S.Srgt or from PC to Srgt... or Srgt to Insptr. etc........... was just curious thats all. is it a set time of service? or amount of hours? or amount of arrests? another silly question (yes its sunday evening after all LOL) When attested as an SC you are under 'probation' for 2 years..... likewise as a PC. After 2 years 'probation' as a PC you can then apply to specialised units etc... but whats the deal for SC's? 2 years before being a special in a specialised unit? ok...silly questions over now lol have a nice evening all.

Because police were called in and rest days were cancelled.. and they had to work extra hours... do you paid officers get paid for these extra hours you have to do? Because i am trying to work out if these extra called in hours are not paid as extra and just included in your salary already or if you get some extra money for working the extra days? Thanks
