Hi guys, Back in July when I received an email asking to book my MSC training date, I was given a website at the end of the email of where I could find out more on pre-course training information and the details of the PE Kit. Emailed the Reception team at Peel Centre where they have forwarded my email to the Logistics team but god knows how long they will take to get back to me (probably never). If you arrest someone in a busy street on a Saturday night and once they are under arrest continue to shout and swear can you further arrest them for Sec 5?

I was just wondering when on duty what specifications do you have to stick to when carrying a knife?

Hi Guys... I'm having some trouble understanding the difference between the above.. Can anyone give me a simple example of the difference between the two. The actual difference is obvious. "...if you do not mention when question something..." "...if you do not mention now something..." So am i right in thinking... When question is used when you intend to interview and ask questions at a later time... And now is used when you are interviewing and asking questions... now.. Also examples would be much appreciated. Ive spent my day at work reading a 10 page caution guide and it hasn't gone in.. And Code G of PACE.. Andy

Thought the topic best belonged here since it is about general policing in a way, but if anyone thinks it should be moved, please go ahead. For my politics class at college I have to choose three topics on which I can have a political debate. They need to be able to be backed up by legislation of some kind. I'm going with the police cuts as one, but need help with facts figures and legislation on that one, plus if anyone can think of any more police related topics, please feel free to suggest.

Hi Guys and Gals, Thought it would be interesting to see how the length of special training varies from force to force, as with regulars the schedule is more or less set in stone with specials there appears to be very little continuity between forces. So if people could just list how many days worth they did it may give some sort of insight. As a start with Wiltshire we do 16 evening sessions and 21 day sessions. Cheers J

I'm not sure where to put this topic but it's more a question of what people think as the time has passed, yadda yadda. So.... I was driving home this evening when I noticed a recovery van, pivate company not rac etc. As I drove past I noticed that it had police livery on the sides (but no words saying police and no crest just the checquers) I thought this strange, it also had a clear lightbar which flashed Amber (this would not be obviouse when off) is this legal? Humberside police have an award that can be won by special constables in the force; known as the Binks award. it can be for outstanding work or going above and beyond the call of duty. Congratulations to this years winners! Any other forces have an award system? i quite like the idea as a lot of specials i work with are very deserving of the awards given and it is nice to see them recognised.

hi all----i have read a few posts on here about training days---7 Saturdays in a row----i think i have no chance of getting these off---i get a friday off instead---would it be possible to get my training on a Friday---ive applied to the Northumbria specials----nothing back yet so im just being hopeful

Does a standard PNC person check flag up an overstayer (illegal immigrant) and can we deal with this or is it only UKBA related.

hopefully if i get through my PIRT and interview thats where ill be going just thought id ask what uniform would i be wearing and yes i know a police one lol, but is there a dress code if you like or typical uniform to abide by ?
