I couldn't find another thread on this, apologies if my searching isn't my best. So, a consultation is proposing the following: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-15444576 What do people think about this? Personally, I think this in't really necessary. Most of the domestics I've been to are very frustrating. Domestic abuse is horrible and I have sympathy to anyone subjected to it, but they're frustrating becuase people refuse to take action to prevent it. You know the people, the ones that get punched every other week but stay there because "he loves me". These people are their own worst enemies and the proposal will do nothing to help this. If someone has…

Hope this is the right section. When my nan had a stroke she was cared for by my mum but my mum had a baby and couldnt look after her anymore she is now is cared for by her sister, she comes twice a week & does the shopping, every time she comes she is always shouting at her and is really not nice at all, my nan doesnt think she can report her because its her sister & nobody else will do the shopping. recent one is she shouted at her because somebody had thrown some microwave meals in the bin, this would have been the carers because they where out of date, as my nan can not even walk so why go mad at her she has also hit her in the past. Another thing that conce…

Scenario Two male officers stop a female that is believed to have drugs or weapons concealed on her. Just before you start search she requests for a female officer to conduct it. What lengths if at all do we go to, to fulfill that request.

Just a bit of a background, in my day job I work part time in a large retail premesis, with hundreds of customers and 50+ staff on the premesis at any one time. A few days ago, a first aider was called for over the tannoy, which I answered as we had no staff first aiders in. When I answered, it was fine anyway, just some old fella had fallen over and one of my colleagues had already put him into a wheelchair, seemed he was fine so it's all good. As I turn to go back to work I see behind me one of the managers storming up to me, to inform me that I can't help anyone in the store because I'm not "Company name first aid trained". I told her I was first aid trained with the…

Title says it all, really - is there such a thing, and has anybody considered setting one up? A friend of mine was showing me Police Buddy on his iPhone, and I thought a Police Wiki, with relevant legislation, information, and general useful stuff - only the publicly available stuff obviously - would be quite useful to set up. You know, pages for different offences, points to prove, legislation, tips etc. Anyways, has this been done? Would it be legal/okay/a terrible idea and likely to get me fired? And if it isn't a terrible idea, anybody up for lending a hand?

Colleague at work is filling out a CRB form.. It says any cautions, reprimands, warnings. He got a caution for Trespassing and was wondering if that had to go on it.. I advised yes. Then that made me think, how long do convictions/warnings etc stay on your record for?

While in my first year of college x years ago, an elderly man who passed the bus stop every morning began to strike up a conversation. After a few weeks he started to spend a few minutes each morning making conversation. Very well. He seemed friendly with another lad, who it turned out knew him from being a neighbour(ish). The man lived on a residential site with mobile homes, and after talking to us for a while would ask if we wanted to come to his caravan for a "drink", asking what our favourite drink was etc. I mentioned him being a bit on the strange side, to the other boy, but he said he was just a lonely bloke, and had been round to his caravan. I wasn't convinced…

Hello all, Scenario .... A guy leaves a petrol station without paying for his fuel. The police knock at his door but he is not in. They knock at his parents but not in. They eventually (a day or so later) knock at a family friends door who pay for the petrol. End of story. The police never did actually make contact with the driver. Question........ Does this incident which happened in 1996 show up on police records / CRB / vetting today ? Thanks in advance

It was my understanding, if an officer were to carry any PPE whilst off duty then it would be classed as possession of an offensive weapon? Can anyone confirm/deny? Obviously its a no full stop for members of the public to be carrying anything like an ASP or similar in public, so i was a bit puzzled when i saw this advert on this very forum!
