A friend of mine broke her arm last Friday and went to A&E at a West London hospital. Whilst there, she was amazed to hear the same request separately from each of four people ahead of her at the reception desk. Each claimed to speak little or no English, announced they were homeless, and then demanded (free) transport to one of the Olympic venues. They were all normally dressed and had clearly come direct from Heathrow. None of them claimed to have any medical problems. I'm guessing that there must have been some kind of rumour that anyone homeless is entitled to a free taxi from a UK hospital - and in fairness they are sometimes provided as transport for people…

I was walking through town last week when I heard two officers speaking to each other. The language one officer was using was highly inappropriate. He was swearing away to his colleague. I only heard a short snippet of the conversation but the language was not great. I have to make it clear that the cop was not speaking to a member of the public but I overheard it and I'm sure others must have in a very busy street. I was wondering would you swear on duty when having a conversation with a colleague?

"Officers turned up with 50,000 volt stun guns" making it sound like a MAJOR over reaction, errmm no all officers at airports have Tasers. It's not as if they went to a locked gun storage before they went to the incident. "threatened with the stun gun" making it sound like he was removed at gun point!! Get a grip Daily Mail!!!!

I happen to be in London this weekend visiting family. Due to my job this is probably going to be my only chance to go to the Olympics. I'm on an early the Saturday, getting into London about 19:00 to see my family and staying overnight. I'm on a late Sunday and have to leave at 15:30. I've been looking at getting an Olympic experience, but to be honest find the whole thing extremely confusing. I just wanted to join in, but on the website to get tickets you need to look specifically at each sport. My family have tickets for Tennis which I'd love but work wont let me go. There doesn't seem to be any "General Admission" tickets so I'm assuming I can just walk about the Oly…

We have all seen these empty seats on TV, rows and rows of them. The empty seats are the ones right at the front and usually belong to the 'Olympic Family' but it seems that they can't be bothered to turn up and this gives a poor impression. There is now talk of giving some of them to the army, but I think that it would be equally good to give some to Specials who have volunteered their time for free when policing the outside area of the Olympic venues. What do you think?

For those of you how work for an employer who has signed up to an ESP agreement with your force, how do you use your allotted hours? Are you only permitted to use them to match the duty hours you are doing that overlap with your normal work pattern or can you use them as recovery time where the duty hours do not overlap with your normal working hours. For example, normal hours are 08:00 to 17:00 and you are required for a mid-week 18:00 to 03:00 operation. Can you take hours before the op and hours after the op from your ESP allowance?

Are there any new crimes that are arrestable? I ate a cupcake with the Olympic rings, I doubt shop didnt have a licence so how would i report them? Also where any stats released about crimes in the Olympic park at Beiijing? Ie how many pickpocketing, burglaries in the athletes village. Wonder how bad its going to be in london!

Having just completed my first (of many) Olympic aid duties, I thought I would share a few random things. Feel free to chip in! 1) Battersea is a cool backdrop....but breakfast portion sizes are small!! 2) Lots of HEDLU everywhere! 3) People kept asking me why there was so many Police about... 4) After two foot chases, I've decided many of the kids are in training for the next Olympic squad... 1 down. 9 to go.
