Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum and will soon be starting training in MSC. I've heard a lot about how Regs 'hate' specials, and think they get in the way etc., but equally I've heard that they also find it helpful having the numbers etc.. So I'd just like to ask, what is the by and large attitude of regular officers towards their specials collegues? Obviously I won't hold it against you if you say you hate them Ben

Just to answer a few questions for me. Could you drop me a DM if you are willing to help. Many thanks.

Im currently looking for work, and will soon begin my training as a special. Has anybody who is already a special found a particular industry that is welcoming to the kinds of skills specials have? Where it may be easier to find a job?

Hi, Can anybody on here help me. I am a black man who was falsely arrested & charged by corrupt bent Surrey Police Officers(SP) & bent Guildford Crown Prosecutors.(CPS) This happened on 16th September 2011 and ever since I have been struggling to get somebody from the corrupt "white" justice system to listen to me or look at the evidence in front of them. The "white" accuser [name removed] and the seven "white" Police Officers ALL make statements against the black man BUT the black man who sat in the Police Cell for almost six hours was not allowed to make a statement & no one bothered to ask the black man his side of the story!!! I was accused of trying …

Just had this YT footage shown on our PST training today. It shows how important is proper search.

Just watched with interest one of these freeman with a video camera chasing a marked police car down the motorway. Having watched this I wonder if there are any offences for which the freeman could be prosecuted or charged with ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PQps_NyDv8

In training we were learning about the rules and regulations surrounding our PNBs today. Following on from this thread http://www.policespecials.com/forum/index.php?/topic/113802-handy-pocketbook-guides/?hl=starsigns#entry1947207 I was hoping you would all share little tips and tricks you have picked up from colleagues and experience over the years for filling out your PNBs. From the above thread i like David's tip of having the ages and corresponding years of birth written down at the back and Chewie's tip of having the dates of star signs written down to challenge suspected fake dates of birth. Thank you for any tips or advice. Mike

What are the different Levels that you can achieve as a Special and how can you achieve them? What responsibilities are there as you move up the hierarchy? I've tried searching for a topic which covers this but couldn't find anything. Thanks :D .

First off, apologies if this is in the wrong area, here seemed best... Second, if this breaches operational info, my apologies! I was watching an episode of britcops just now, and its covering Lincolnshire police. There was a report of a chap threatening kids with a shotgun in the street. Anyway, armed officers turned up, and the camera panned across a close up of the magazine on a G36, and at first I thought it was an empty mag. Rewinding, you can just see 1 round at the bottom of the mag well, so maybe 5-10 rounds loaded in a 30 round magazine. Is there a reason for this? Why not use short magazines which would also make the gun more wieldy in a tighter space such a…

Many of you will know that Met has introduced the certificate in knowledge of policing (CKP) as a pre-requisite for application to the force, and it doesn't guarantee a job. It cost a grand, and pretty much around 2/3 of the course is self-taught. I am on the course currently, past half way already. Now I been doing some research on the net (including policespecials), and talking to others who been on CKP from other companies. My worries are a mixture of my research results and my own experience. so here are my worries- What we learn right now in CKP could have a huge impact down the road when we get deployed to our BCU. Many modules that are self taught should reall…

Forgive me I am a (very) new special and this is my first post. I reported a potential drink driver who was in the pub. I gave the operator my details I know this person and he knows me (not friends or anything). He clearly stated that he would be driving home and had been charged with it in the past. In hindsight, I would have remained anonymous however, I gave my details. What can I expect to happen now? He never got into the car as far as I am aware. Would my details be released if he was charged? I obviously don't want any reprisal!

Police Officers are allowed to transfer throughout the Police Service of England and Wales. I.E, an officer in Cheshire Police could apply to transfer-in to Yorkshire Police if so desired (perhaps due to a family relocation, or any number of reasons). Why is it that the same is not afforded to trained Police Staff. I’m sure it would be of great benefit to the Police service of England and Wales if well trained staff could also transfer positions within the entire service. CSI, PCSO, Detention, Intelligence, Front Counter, Control Room and many other roles are filled with trained staff, yet if they wished to transfer, they would first have to re-apply to another force an…
