As a MOP you find some money on the floor in your workplace which s an open public building. You report this to your HR dperatment who send an email round saying some money has been found and if you have lost some you should let them know how much, approx what time and where you have been in the bulding. No one collects the money. As the finder are you leaglly allowed to keep it? if so how long after the find do you have to wait?

Hi All, Situation: A member of the public has approached you and stated that there is a small vegetable knife in a children's playground nearby. When you check it out sure enough - you find the knife amongst the wood chippings. It is seized etc... Question: What power are you using when you search for the knife? I can only seem to find search powers relating to premises and vehicles and not actually land in Blackstones. I've asked experienced officers and no-one seems to know! Cheers, Guybrush PS This was a real situation!

Hi all, I am new to this site so i am sorry if this is a question already answered elsewhere! I have spent my whole life struggling and although i have constantly been trying to keep my head above water in the past it has been extremely difficult for me - i had a child at a very young age and had to bring her up on my own...i have worked most of my life for her but along the way have got myself into bad credit. I am extremely worried that this will have an adverse effect on my application. Getting into the police force is all i want now - i am 31 and finally know what i want out of life, i am a good person who has just had a little bad luck along the way...is this goin…

My Dad was just telling me about how a friend of his has recently been banned from driving. The story leading up to this was he had driven to the pub not intending to drive, but for whatever reason had too much to be able to then drive home. Knowing this, but not having anywhere nearby to stay and with it raining he opted to get into the back seat of the car to sleep in the realtive warm and dry so that he could then return home in the morning. Later that night officers decided to speak to him, I assume because seeing someone lying in the back of a car in the early hours of the morning is a bit out of the ordinary, and as a result of that because he had the keys in his po…

About the video Policeman faces death, why do police take the cuffs off then search the suspect? Wouldn't it be safer to leave the cuffs on while searching him, or is it just generally unlikely for this sort of thing to happen?

I was dealing with a job involving the Common Law offence of Public Nuisance (which has been my favourite offence for some time) when I stumbled across a list of the existing Common Law offences on PNLDB. There were the obvious ones but I couldn't help notice the offence of "Refusing to assist a constable". Essentially it is: "Refusing to aid or assist a constable in the execution of his duty when called upon to do so, if that person is physically capable of rendering such help and has no lawful excuse for so refusing." Anyone used it, could have used it in the past or might use it in the future?
