If I was woke up in the early hours (about 2am-5am) to find a group of hooded individuals up my drive inspecting/trying the handles to the car/house could I legally make a person arrest/citizen arrest (obviously AFTER ringing 999 and informing the police and making a decision on my own safety/the safety of others and the responce time of the police)??? Also after making the arrest if the person in question was struggling and trying to use physical force against you would it be considered ok to use; a) Hiatts Speedcuffs or b) cable/zip ties to restrain the person until the police arrived? someone we reported to the police for breach of asbo was arrested and i heard third hand that because they have an asbo order against them they can find out who reported them is this correct because i was unable to find any info on the net about this. The reason for this question because the person we reported was delibratly talking loud to someone outside our house for our benefit that they knew who reported them although it could have been about 6 differant people who rung the police it was us this person was aiming the abuse at.

Hi guys,Ive jsut had a crash went into a tree.The police gave me 2 options to remove my vechile recovery or remove it my self,i said ill get it removed by today he said ok as it was non drive able,i had to wait for my freind to finish work before he could give me a hand as he said he would help me tow it away.I come back later on and my vechile isnt there,has been moved by a recovery truck that the police must of called,i now have to pay £300 to get my car back,lets say i dont want my car back no more? they can keep it will i stil have to pay £300?even though i dont want the car? and i cant claim off the insurance as i cant afford the excess at the moment due to jsut be…

Hello, I just wanted to know when you first start training the class you are in is that all the same PCSO'S in the same borough you have selected ? How big are the groups in the classes ? Also do they select at random who you will be working with as i believe you work in 2's ? Thanks

Hello All, I've tried searching this but had no luck, I was on a school trip to Winchester today and on the way back I saw a red pick up truck (Non emergency vehicle related) towing a van, the pick up truck had a red rotary lightbar on top, Like the ones on the Met Police Vans but a red version, this was activated as he was towing the vehicle along. I immediatly thought it was related to the fire service but it wasnt, is there a law regarding that lightbar? should it be amber? Thanks in Advance. Ben

Can someone answer me what if any are the national minimum eyesight stardards for an advanced driving course. I already hold a standard response grade and I am really hoping to go to traffic but am worried that if I should fail the medical that I will be booted to a desk job for the rest of my career. Hi, The other night on my way home from Tesco, I was "followed" by a marked police car. This sounds simple, but I'm not 100% sure on their behaviour while doing it. I pulled out on to the dual carriageway, and they must have been atleast 250 yards away, and they caught up to me in a few short seconds. They then continued following me all around the backstreets leading to my house. They would approach junctions, look which way I went, and follow me. I tried braking later, and avoiding using indicators until I really had to, and they just followed suit. Hi. I have been arested with arson with intent and charged. There were 2 people inside of a caravan where the tent outside caught alight. My question is what happens if I breach bail. I.e if I go missing from my bail address when discoverd? Any help is apreciated

Hi Guys, So I was wondering, I understand that for certain acts of criminality if they're considered all part of the same incident that sentences can run concurrently. I get the how and when but not why. Have we always done this and who thought that we should run these sentences alongside. If we've gone to the effort of having convicted you of x different offences why should you not be punished for each offence. Cheers, WAID

I did a search and couldnt find anything but here goes. Last night on duty we pulled into a supermarket car park after hours and find a car parked up and goes to drive off then thinks better of it and stops. I walk over to the window and can smell cannabis and so carry out a sec 23 MDA search on all occupants and cant find anything so fill in my form. I then notice another car parked up looking suspicious with no one in it and so go over to take a look and find the tax out of date and door open so then i remember that one of the guys in the car had 2 sets of car keys on him. Hi I hope someone out there can give me some advise, I parked in a pub carpark to pick my child up from school only to be issued 5wks later with a EFPN charge, this charge states that I need a permit to park in this carpark but when i asked the pub landlord he said "No you dont need one ". I did not recieve a parking ticket on the spot nor did i leave my vehicle for the 5 mins i was waiting for my child along with at least 10 other mums doing the same trip. Hi everyone, Just joined here to try and get a little bit of advice. My mum keeps horses on a field that over 3 years the horses have 'escaped' around 4 times. I say escaped but the fences have clearly been cut and tied back, For what reason, I can only guess. (a shotgun cartridge was found nearby so possibly shooting at something) now the horses were found on a road and my mum is getting charged. it says contrary to section 155(1) and (2) of the highways act 1980. Hello new here and have a question. Im soon to join the RAF and have been told by a friend that if the police were to follow me when im driving and look me up on the computer they cant get any information about armed forces personnel is this true? If it is it seems a bit silly to me as we are only doing a job and shouldnt have our details held just because we are in the armed forces. Thanks jamie
