For the purposes of an assault do items that the (potential) victim may be holding or wearing count as being part of their "person"? e.g. If I'm carrying a camera and a person says "no photography" and pushes/pulls/grabs my camera have they potentially assaulted me? edited to add an example.

My son moved back to the UK in Jan 2008. He has a Spanish driving licence, full, for cars and motor cycles which expires in 2016. He intends to work/stay in the UK permanently. I have looked on this website: which suggests he has until his 45th birthday, but the licence expires in 2016, so he could only be covered until then. However if I use the Interactive Tool HERE it says he can only drive for 3 years. Why can't the DVLA manage to agree with itself on it's own website? Anyone like to hazard a guess, backed up by law if possible, about when my son has to exchange his licence for a UK one?

What constitutes excessive noise ? I am at my home and can clearly hear driving instructions from an outside public address system It sounds as if its coming from an area where I know there is an event/conference centre. Earlier there were fireworks, not too noisy and quite pretty but now they sound as if they are giving instructions to drivers, and asking spectators to stand back etc. Is the time that these events must cease ? This is a working/school day after all.

My daughter had a fight with a student at a station 2 months ago.My daughter is 14 and the other girl 12. my daughter stated that the girl in question threw her scarf on the track...my daughter went up to her twice requesting for her scarf.... On the third ocassion my dauhter said she stood in front of and ask for her scarf or money to buy a replacement....the girl pushed my daughter and a fight ensued. my daughter was suspended from school for 5 days for fighting in her school uniform......... To my horror i got a telephone call today inviting us to go to a police station for interrogation.... The PC i spoke said MY DAUGHTER WOULD BE ARRESTED AND THEN INTERVIEWED..…

A call to a fight is made, on arrival victims give description and on the basis of that an arrest of a nearby person follows. While that person is in handcuffs the suggestion of making a street id by driving the victim past the arrested party is made. Thats wrong isn't it?

I recently saw a car in the Auto-trader around two weeks ago. Advertised with a car dealership. I rang to enquire about the car and it was exactly what I was looking for. I put a deposit on the car of £200 and the car was worth £2800. I was told I would get a call the next day so I could go down to manchester and pick it up. Now from that date, around two weeks ago, ive had to ring up daily to find out what was going on, and every day I was told it wasnt ready. im a bit confused about the law with air rifles now since the gun amnesty or something like that. its only 10fps (its dropped over the years). the pellets and rifle are kept seperate and im 19. i dont think there is a problem but im not 100% sure on this. any feedback would be appreciated

Hello, I have just joined the forum. I have some questions about 'offensive weapons'. Knife attacks in London are everyday living. I was threatened with one by a 14-15 year old. Yeah, I know, he thinks he is a big man. I walked away then he just left. I was so angry I ran after him with a rock. When he saw me, he started running away like he thought he was going to be beaten really badly. I was so angry. After chasing him I just turned around and then just ran home. I am very glad nothing happened because it would be on my concious for a long time. Hi, I hope i've posted this in the right section. Basically i am doing a creative writing course and for my next assignment i am going to write a short story about a shoplifter. I would like to know how many times a person is likely to get cautioned for this offence? How the arrest process would work and any other information about shoplifting which may help me. Thank you.

I searched and couldnt find anything but I apologise if this has been talked about before. Last night in the pub I was having a discussion with my mate who thinks its legal to grow small amounts of cannabis on your own property or use it, I however said Im pretty sure it isnt as cannabis is an illegal substance but he thinks because its your own property its legal to smoke it there or grow small amounts. Anyway I was looking for the legislation that would agree with me, would this be misuse of drugs act? Thanks (ps hes not a drug user)

hi I wonder if any one can help me on this please. I was stopped by an officer and asked to produce valid MOT in 7 days. I asked what will happen if i will not produce it. He said it is good to produce it and given me some receipt. He didn't stress MUST to produce and i took it bit lightly.
