I was amongst a group of IC4's the other night who were being stopped and accounted for. They were quite grumpy about it, but reasonably complient. Having spent several minutes speaking to us in English, several of the group began to speak to each other in another language. I asked them to speak in English, as a matter of safety, as I could not understand what they were saying. Most of the group said that this was fair enough, with another few saying it's a free country they could speak in whatever language they liked. Morning, I was driving home last night and noticed that down my street there was, unusually, a queue of traffic. As I got closer to the cause of the blockage I discovered that a very very inebriated man walking/staggering down the center of the road. He appeared to be quite happy but seemed to be aware he was holding up traffic but had no regard. As cars swerved round him he would try to put himself into their path. Can someone please tell me if simply moving a hand held mobile phone eg from your pocket to the front passenger seat, constitutes an offence of 'using' a mobile phone whilst driving? Or would it only be covered by the MP40 or 50 offence which if there was no loss of control would be pretty difficult to nail, wouldn't it? Thanks

Could you please verify something for me. If someone deliberately engineered a fraudulence claim (a burglary that NEVER happened) and supplied the insurance company and the police with false information in 2006 I think, followed by another one last year 2008 and cashed in on both of them! Does this still constitutes a criminal offence? and can she be done?

Hi there, A friend of mine is on bail for common assault after a dispute between himself and his girlfriend in their home, they were drunk and had somewhat of an altercation. An ambulance was called and the police came with them, he was arrested for common assault but she had also hit him with visible marks on his face. She was taken to hospital to be treated but no real injuries were diagnosed except some slight bruising on the arms. As I said he is now on bail and I wondered what is likely to happen to him? Both admitted to hitting the other, will this play a factor? Is a prison sentance likely for something like this? Thanks in advance for your time.
