Hi, i recently bought a private plate directly from DVLA site, they have sent me the v750 and last week i took it along with the other documents to a local DVLA office, and they gave me back a new tax disc with new plate number on it, and the green slip of v5 with new reg and stamped, and a new copy of my MOT certificate with new reg on it. I i am not sure if i'm suppose to put the new plate till i receive confirmation letter with new v5 + tax disc from DVLA. But if i ring insurance company and change reg with them and drive it with new plates on where is the problem since i already have been isssued with a new tax disc? and if i get stopped is it an offence? what could…

I have lived in Spain for the past 11 years and when I was back in the uk in 2003 I did a pretty dumb thing and took my sisters car to the local shop, uninsured. To top it all off I wasn't wearing a seatbelt either and that's the reason why I was pulled over. Because I live in Spain and was due back 5 days later I told the officers this in the back of their car so they had to arrest me. The only thing I had on me was my passport which one officer took from me at the station and went into the back for a few minutes before returning. I was then interviewed and had to appear in court 2 days later. Fair play.it was a stupid mistake,I paid the £200+ fine the day after a…

A few weeks back a couple of young women - students doing some sort of training program with a local religious group - knocked on my door asking me to complete a questionnaire to help them with some research. The questions were all very non-intrusive so I didn't mind taking a couple of minutes to fill one in. I chatted with them for a short time and they asked if they could conctact me again in a few weeks to talk about some of the questions in more depth. Obviously they wanted to convert me to something or other but I enjoy a good debate so agreed and gave one of the girls my number to get in touch with me (that was probably a bit daft I realise!). I've never heard b…

I was given a "producer" or HORT/1 a few weeks ago for not having insurance doc's on me. (My car was covered on company insurance but did not show up on the police database as it was new to me) I went into my local station with the documents requested where the officer behind the desk checked my insurance and filled out a HORT/2 form. What happens now? Is the matter closed or do I need to go back to the station again at some point? Also, I was not given any receipt for providing my insurance, I am concerned about this as I know it is an offence if you don't produce in 7 days (which I did), but I have no paperwork to prove this. Any help appreciated.

I know nothing on the subject and was just hopping some one could point me in the right direction for some information from a manufacturing point of view. Are there restrictions on who can and how they go about manufacturing such weapons? Also if some one could point me at the office guidelines on the requirement of such weapons them self that would be a great help. Thanks in advance.

We know anyone who claims residency in a country must register their foriegn car in the UK, but what about students who are in the UK for about three years on a student visa. Techincally they have not claimed residency and they do not have indefinante leave to remain. Do they have to register their cars in the UK?

Hi guys, just a quick one for the traffic guys really i recently applied to NYP and ive been currently undertaking driving lessons (incase i pass the application and need to relocate etc). My question is do i need to be named on my parents policy if they are taking me out on an evening to further practice? it was my understanding after reading the highway code that as long as you have a provisional licence, clearly displayed L plates on the vehicle and were accompanied by a person over 21 and has had a full licence for 3 years then you were fine. if it helps both my parents have fully comp etc as their insurance. thought id ask incase i get pulled and banned, which wo…

ok in my proffesion there seem to be an extrodinary ammount of "wannabe's" and with this comes quite a few people who fit blue lights to their own cars normally for doing "event cover"including someone at work with me at the moment who is only a qualified first aider with noadvanced driving quals. ( i have now changed jobs and work for a very good private company in the bristol area who are sub contracted to the nhs) now as far as i am aware at the moment you cannot fit any lamp capable of emmiting a blue flashing light to a private vehichle whether working or not my questions are these 1) under the current regulations what are the rules if the lamp appears white wh…

Having been given another expanded race/relgion and diversity form to go through with with the people I have to deal with last week, which seems to have nothing to do with what I am speaking to them about. I have also noticed the large number of members we seem to have accrued recently so we must have a fairly diverse bunch on here. So I would be interested to see inparticular with religion what people believe and why they believe it, having looked at it ( a bit) the ideas from religion to religion vary so much. So what I am asking is if you have views about one religion/strand of diversity etc please try and explain and justify them so others can understand.

I am writing to make a complaint over a parking ticket my partner received, we parked in a car park behind a pub and did not notice the sign saying we were not allowed to park there, on arrival we noticed a police officer arriving at the same time he did not point out that we should not park there, we left the car for 5 minutes to go into blockbuster when we came back we had a ticket ordering we paid £60, i think this is a disgrace as if we had have known we would not have left the car there for just 5 minutes to have to pay that amount. the officer obviously just waited for us to walk out to give us the ticket which is very unfair. some people will do anything to screw …
