As I'm sure you are aware it is legal to give alcohol to children over the age of 5 in your home (and other relavant private premesis). [cf.s5 Children and Young Persons Act 1933] However, s.149(3) of the Licensing Act 2003 says: So would a parent who bought some alcohol for his 15 year old to drink at home be committing an offence? I find it odd that the rule about buying alcohol for children seems absolute - wheras the actual consumption in the home is perfectly legal...

If a person has access to funds and the power to spend those funds as he or she see fit for the interests of the company what offence (if any) are they committing if they use their company's money as security (or spends it) even if there is no risk to the money involved? Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, with the key worker housing scheme? More specifically my gf and I are looking at buying a house in Berkshire, but will never be able to afford anything reasonable, so have been thinking about looking into the Home Buy scheme where they give you a % of the property value and you repay them at a low interest rate. Seized a vehicle for being used in Crime (Use of Stolen Credit Cards) + also search under s18 PACE. The problem now, is that the vehicle is in storage (at a cost to my force) and the male has been remanded and it will probably go all the way to court and get sent down for it. What now happens to his vehicle seized? Do i somehow get him to sort recovery for his vehicle and tell him that he is liable to storage costs if he doesn't or will he even care if he's being sent down? Predicament!!!!

So the other day, my little brother was late coming home, he is 10 (just) and was out way later than he should have been. He was with 2 lads older than him and they left him alone about 1 mile away. He was scared and so rang the Police, he doesn't know my mobile number. The Police took our address and his details from him over the phone. I get a phone call from the Police (think it was the control centre) informing me of the situation and where he was (people out looking for him go to collect him and the story continues). Scenerio occurred last night which seemed to go against training. I think I'm looking for the by the book answer and the practical answer. I was called to incident where a group had been banging on the door of a person to have a ruck. The door opened and the house occupant ran out with ice hockey stick. Just as we arrived we saw everyone running. I jumped out the van and gave chase. It was my first chase I've been involved in and it was like a running scene from Six Million Dollar Man as I caught up. I overtook an other officer who had started with a head start, lost my footing and fell over. But I rolled like a ninja and resumed the chase. Anyway, I eventually caught …

What can i do about noisey neighbours? Right now they have their windows opened with the tv on so loud i can hear it like i was watching it in my room! They are about 15 metres away from my house on the opposite side of the road! This isn't the first time this had happened ussually its just music blarring out the windows or argueing, its realy starting to do my head in! If i go round their and ask them to turn it down im worried they might get angry and start having a go at me, as their not very friendly people!

myself and my boyfriend run a small but happy car forum, we have a rival car forum in the local area, they have posted on their website that if we approach them (we have the same meet area unfortunatly) then they will find out who are families are and where we live and that they would "do us over" where does the law stand on this? we are quite worried by it and it has scared alot of our members. please advise if we sould contact our local police or if it would just be seen as not important? thanks in advance! lucy

Hi folks, Heres a quick one more for interest than anything else. On a recent course a conversation came up about it being against the law to wear an item of clothing that would under normal circumstances mislead the public in to mistaking you for a police officer. This covered uniforms, badges etc. This is pretty clear and understandable, but then why is it allowed for the highways agency to quite overtly design their vehicles to look at first glance exactly like those of UK police forces? Are they exempt from whatever law or legislation covers this? Cheers Gaz
