Hi All I just watched an old "Traffic Cops" programe they arrested a male for criminal damage to his own vehicle surely this is not right.

I travelled on the train from Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Airport on 19 June. I bought my ticket before travelling at the price of 2.05 pounds using my 16-25 Railcard. When I arrived at the airport, the ticket inspection officer found that my railcard had expired and I paid for a new full price ticket at 3.80 pounds as instructed by the officer. The officer also took my original ticket and my railcard. I didn't realise my 16-25 railcard had expired when I bought the original ticket. I am really worried that there will be penalty charges and criminal records for this. Will there be a fine for me? Will I be called to the court? What should I do now? Any suggestions …

i witnessed an assault outside a pub, it was an unprovoked attack on a man who was kicked and punched while on the ground, a chase followed , with the assailant, being caught after a long run, the assaulted man sustained a badly broken leg, i was just wondering what kind of punishment he may receive? thanks in advance! =]

Here's an interesting scenario I came across a few nights ago. I required a sample of breath from a person I suspected was drunk in charge of a motor vehicle. She refused to provide a sample either at the roadside or in custody, and was consequently charged. Now, had she blown over (and she would have done) she would have been charged with being drunk in charge with excess alcohol (s5). As you're all no doubt aware, it is a defence to a charge of being drunk in charge to show that there was no likelihood of you driving. Hiya Everyone, Basically i made a bit of a silly mistake today. I was coming out of a 'left only' junction (although i needed to go right), after I pulled out there were no cars on the other side of the road so did a quick u turn. As there were no cars on either side of the road I believed it was a safe manouver. Unfortunately the car behind me waiting to pull out transpired to be a police car (not marked). They rightly sounded the horn to get my attention and they didnt look very happy to say the least. The police car stopped for a short time, then continued (in the opposite direction). I was just wondering what the procedure is when a parking violation ticket is affixed to a windscreen but then is either stolen or blows away? Is the offender then likely to be summonsed to court after the 28 day payment period has expired even though he or she is not aware of a ticket being issued? With thanks.

Hi all, For my own information just in case I ever come across one of these supposedly road legal machines that you can apparently ride on the road without a licence, tax, insurance or helmet, what is the law on them please in case I ever see one whilst I'm out? These information that I have managed to find so far has been a bit conflicting. There is a thread on ebay where one of these bikes was purchased, and the buyer got continually stopped (understandably IMHO) by the police, and then told categorically by a traffic unit that it is illegal, to push it home and if they saw him on it again then he would get nicked. Hi, Could somebody give me a wee bit of advice about what to do about an unwanted guest? The other day I got a phone call at work (not a polis yet - working on it!) from a neighbour who spotted a youth climbing over the 6ft fence at the side of our house then spending 5-10 minutes looking in windows and trying door handles before climbing over the fence again and away up the street. Is this worth reporting to the local station? Is there any reason not to put some barbed wire along the top of the fence? As an Urbex-er (someone who enjoys entering abandoned/active buildings for no other purpose than to explore and document them) I was wondering where the line is crossed between civil/criminal offenses with regard to Burglary/Attempted Burglary? Let's look at a purely hypothetical senario: Person X trespasses onto land NOT covered by criminal tresspass laws (these ones) and discovers a door that is not shut correctly. If it is acceptable could there be some form of "sliding scale" of acceptability (e.g. you commit a minor offence with under a significent threat) This seems to be a staple of many thrillers, where the bad guys have some form of hold over a preson (e.g. threats of violence against them or a loved one). I had an altercation with a man and his son (we'll call them family x) on Sunday. My family and I are in the process of a harrassment / intimidation investigation against "Family X", in which we are the claimants. The investigation is still on going and there are more witnesses to be spoken to before any action (if any is done by the police). Hey all, long time no see, Just an update - I'm still pursuing a career in the police, but I do have a concern with a tactic I believe to be called "Kettling" and how it works. My understanding (which could very well be wrong, please correct me if it is) is that in a kettling situation, protesters and demonstrators are held within a police containment line for several hours to "contain" the protest situation.
