I've just been told that the FPN for failing to wear a seatbelt has now gone up to £60 non-endorseable. Which means it's in the same book as no VEL or MOT. Anyone with knowledge?

Last december i decided i was going to buy the other half a new laptop, found one on ebay and won it. The guy got intouch with me saying his paypal account was having problems. Hello! I passed my driving test in 2005. Several years ago (2006), I was convicted of a driving offence and my licence endorsed with 6 penalty points. I submitted both parts of my licence to the court, and was sent both parts to my address a week later with the points added. I paid my fine, and expected it to be the end of that! Flash forward to a month ago, and I have recently moved to a new home. As you must advise the DVLA when you change address, I did so by filling out the necessary form (D1 I think it was) and sent away both parts of my licence. Hii :) I was recently stopped by traffic police and was told that I would be recieving 3-9 points and that I was looking at the higher end. However; he did not state to me how many, although he did say I would be reverting back to my provisional so i presume six. The thing is he didn't make it clear to me... 1. Can I still drive until i recieve my points? 2. Am I going to have to go to court? (As i've heard that they can't issue six points without going to court) Finally do I just play the waiting game now? Also is it true that they must contact you via post within a certain amount of time by law? Thanks all :) Careless driving BTW

Well when i was 11 or 12 i received a caution for assault. Just wondering when or if this gets deleted. and would it restrict me from becoming a police officer at the age of 22 Thanks alo

I was browsing the internet the other day and came across a photo of a car with its rear registration plate mounted upside down! That got me thinking about the rules on the display of registration plates, and I wondered which part of the rules would be breached by this. Apart from the orientation, the plate was 100% legal. I've looked at The Road Vehicles (Display of Registration Marks) Regulations 2001 (http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2001/20010561.htm) but couldn't see how this plate would fall foul. Can anyone help? Looking at my traffic codes I can see there is an offence of "unnecessary noise from a motor vehicle" does this offence only relate to engine/exhaust noise or could it relate to loud music &c. aswell? Can anyone actually point me to the regulations?

Attending a damage only RTC on friday the driver of one of the vehicles refused to give any details to the other party but remained at the scene until we arrived. I required him to give me his details for checks which he duly did but stated they were not to be passed to the other driver. I did all checks and he held D/L, Insurance, MOT and tax but when i took advice from a traffic officer he said he had to provide them to the other driver or commits offences. Now looking up i can only see he commits an offence under Sec170(4) RTA 1988 if he fails to stop at an accident but cant find anything relating to failing to provide to the other party. Question for all you traffic bods. If a vehicle is purchased which is declared off road by the old owner. And the new owner picks the car up with out tax or mot and drives it to his home town with an mot arranged are there any offences? As you cant have a tax without mot .. and your legal if you drive to a pre arranged mot. And the new driver is insured for the vehicle.

Ok this is a very improbable situation brought about by me having too much time on my hands... Woman returns from Amsterdam and makes it through customs with a large amount of Cannabis. She (and this is where it gets very improbable) decides that she doesn't want it anymore and emails everyone she knows alerting them to come to a public space, where she is waiting, to help themselves. What are the offences if a Police Officer found the drugs having received a tip off. (I.e.
