Hi there, I have recently purchased the police practice papers as I'm going to be applying for Tayside. Managing to pass on the Language paper and the Maths but really seem to struggle on the Information Handling, has anyone else found this ?

If your name is noted down by a police officer, but nothing else comes of it (not charged, warning etc) does this still get noted down against your name on the Police system? This is in Scotland if that makes any difference. Any help appreciated, Thanks

There may have been this question before. Anyway, couple of duties back I decided to locate the driver of a BMW parked on double-yellows (had been there at least 2 hours, right outside a restaurant and a bit of an obstruction for the flow of traffic). Anyway, when I confronted the driver she said she could park there as she had a disabled badge, which I later saw. When I said to her, "does this mean you are excempt from parking on double-yellows as you please?", she said yes! I definately didn't think this was right. Views?

Hello, I am not TD but have on bikes for years. Can you progress between lane 2 and 3 on a motorway when there is a que and at what speed would it be demed as dangerous? It is a question I have never found a definative answer for but hope you chaps could help with. Thanks,

Hello folks, I am one of the many people waiting for a start date for the Met and have been advised that it wont be until 2010 until this happens, which is fine I am in the final stages of referencing and don't have a problem waiting in line. I originally applied in March 2008 so whats a few months between friends?!? Having just finished uni I am now looking for a job to tide me over until I recieve this magical start date and am wondering if anybody could help me with this question- if I am now IVC cleared (as I passed vetting) am I allowed to use this clearance for applying for jobs? Hi, So while on exercise the other weekend someone asked if I saw someone committing an offence on military property would I go and start arresting people. I promptly said no of course, if someone was getting a kicking mind you then I'd do something but I wouldn't be expecting to start going around nicking people. It got me to wondering though, would I have the same obligation to deal with something as if I were in civvy street? I'm assuming that the RMP would deal and I know that I am subject to military law whilst on duty. Does this extend to what I'm doing rather than where I'm doing it? Hello, hello! This came up in a knowledge check and it has me wondering. Shaun the shoplifter has been accused of assault and you go around to his house to arrest him, which you do just as he comes out of his house. So, given his previous convictions for being a serial shoplifter, would you be able to search his house (which he was in immediately before his arrest) in case he has anymore stolen goods in there?
