When issuing PND'S for Shop lifting. Please can someone write some points to prove questions that I can ask the offender prior to issuing a PND for £80.00. Please note Ive been a Special Constable for 14 years and yes "shame on me" for not knowing this. Unfortuately we dont get very much support or training or anything from the force I work with and I have only issued 2 PND. Successfully fines paid for. All I am asking is if there are any experienced officers out there what questions would you ask the Offender recording them into your PNB just before you issue a PND.

Please could someone tell me what the law is on riding a 4mph mobilty scooter while over the drinking driving limit. (pavement use not on road). Can I get in trouble for drink driving?

Evening all, this week has somewhat been dedicated to S1 PACE searches. A friend told me today that her children come home from her ex partners place saying that they are often crammed into his car with up to 8 people meaning that the kids have to sit un-belted in that back on peoples laps, or even in the passenger footwell! Is there anything that can be done or does he need to be caught in the act? Most of the kids are under 9 and I am very concerned for their safety! Many thanks, TL

From 11th November myself and the rest of Hampshire RPU Officers will have the power to seize untaxed vehicles we stop that are more than 28 days out..... A very interesting and powerful new power we are being given in the war against road law breakers! :D Not sure if this is a national power or being piloted in Hants? It is only RPU that are being given the power.

Hi i have been in the military for 13 years,although before i joined i recieved 2 police cautions as a juvenile,further more i went to a Magistrates court 8 years ago for common assualt(fined£100) do these show up on a police certificate if i am Emigrating to the U.S. as i have to apply for a marriage visa?

To the traffic bods...would you seize a vehicle from someone driving whilst disqual or disqual until test passed. Strictly speaking this isnt DOIA, or for the benefit of 165a it does come under it.

I just need some clarification on the public order act... Section 5 is for someone relieving themselves in the street, being rowdy above and beyond high spirits etc. They are NOT INTENDING to cause "H,A,D" by this behaviour. Flicking through the Beat Officer's Companion (which unfortunately I don't have with my now), I got the impression than any criminal damage by fire is by definition arson. Is it that simple? For example, someone throws a firework into a roadside litter bin and the contents catch fire, scorching the sides of the bin. Criminal damage, or arson? (Ignoring any firework offences)

Can someone please outline the difference to me? I always thought that S.25 was there for 'none arrestable' offences, howver I thought this was done away with on 1/1/2006. Sorry if it's been posted before, just can't seem to find any answers via google. Thanks in advance.

Is there any offence, in E & W, if a minor is consuming alcohol in a public, or indeed, private place? Not talking by laws, or confiscation/surrender here.

I have a car on my driveway that has been declared SORN. I have been out of the country volunteering for a while and I now want to start using the car again. I declared the car SORN before I went because I wasn't using it and while I was away the MOT expired. I would like to know if I can drive the car to a MOT testing station with no tax and while the car is still SORN? I obviously need the MOT certificate to take away the SORN and tax the car. I know you can drive to a pre-arranged MOT with no tax but can you do this while the car is SORN? Thanks in advance

Evi gatherers at football matches, and filiming in the public domain is one thing, however i've been issued a body worn camera (very small with cracking image and audio quality). What legal power is being used to film inside peoples houses, businesses, private areas, hospital wards etc etc etc. Obviously this is only being used in the interest of the prevention or detection of crime, its not being used when you go to speak to someone about something insignificant. What powers, section etc and if anyone can link, it would be great.
