I know in Hamshire they can fast track their specials to regulars after 2 years. Is that something you can only do if your a special in that force? Or do they accept from other ones, cheers. sam

Evening all. Im just about to apply to become a special. Missed the office opening hours by 5 mins today so was unable to speak to the team. For my area (sussex) training is held at Lewis. Do you get to choose the area you patrol on the beat? All feedback welcome. Cheers, Deano

i know this could be considered cheating in a way, but i was wondering what sort of role play scenarios happen when you went to the assesment. also for special constable, were there anything else that you would be tested on other than role plays? also whats the percentage of people passing cheers (also for some reason i cant retrieve my pw for my previous accuont - otherwise i'd be using that)

Hi to all! My 1st post. :-) Basically I failed my application for a Sussex constable on Saturday which has left me a bit disappointed, however! I received a letter today explaining that I can apply to become a special. Ive never seen a special in the area I live in (Crowborough) so im not sure if the uniform is any different. Do specials still wear stab vests on the beat like ordinary officers and PCSO's? Im going to apply shortly, just interested in the uniform differences. Cheers, Deano

Hi. I've just had my interview for South Yorkshire police to become a SC. It lasted 20 minutes and was split into 4 questions regarding good communication, community and customer focus, respect for diversity, and problem solving. At the end they told me i would find out the result within 7 days. Sure enough a day later I recieved my letter back and i have failed. Im so disappointed! I've also failed an interview for the regulars and a pcso role in the past with similar questions. Does anyone know a good place to get help and support as the interview seems to be my downfall. How do they score you in this area? Is there certain words i have to say? Im a confident 22 year ol…

Hi, I want to join as a special constable as soon as I turn 18 ( next month ), but i'm not sure if I would be accepted due to lack of life experience etc. I left school this year and have worked my way up to assistant manager in a supermarket in a short space of time but I dont think this would be good enough experience to be accepted in to the police. I have always had a keen interest in police work and want a more interesting career. Whats your thoughts about me joining? Should I give it a bash or leave it a few more years? Thanks, Jamie

Can some one please be kind enough to let me know what these are, so i can cover them in my application. Thanks in advance for any replies. X

Evening All.... Just thought i would add a post to let people know about my experience on a Cambridgeshire Constabulary assessment centre which i attended last weekend. First of i think everyones experience is different due to the difference in set up from force to force. Mine consisted of a fitness test, PIRT and interview, I found the PIRT quite difficult which i was not expecting, the interview consisted of competency based questions but were not too challenging and the fitness test was the usual bleep test and dyno. this was last saturday 19th July and i recieved the call that i was sucessful on tuesday 22nd July , i am well chuffed and cant wait to start my …
