Say looked a bit shifty? And a patrol car saw you looking a bit odd, you didn't want the hasell of explaining who you are where you going? Are you aloud to just walk or run away if you get confronted? Im guessing your not as the officer may suspect you of a crime. But if you've done nothing wrong and you attempt to walk off are you guilty of anything? What if you feel threatened by the police presence as its causing unwanted attention at you. I mean most of the public order laws are mean't to keep people safe and happy and if the police are making you feel uneasy from everyone looking at you then is it right to assume the police are doing more bad than good and what are…

This is a real one, but not sure how we could have dealt with it ... We turned up to an incident, and a clamping company had clamped three cars on an area they claimed they had authority to clamp in. Two signs were glued onto the wall indicating this. However, the property was built into a rail arch and owned by TFL and leased to the guys who's cars had been clamped. A TFL representative came down and confirmed this. The guys leasing the property showed us a plan of their rental or lease agreement which indicated that where the cars were parked was indeed part of the property they were leasing. The clamping company were adamant they had to proceed by means of fine or v…

This happened to me about 10 years ago, so isn't in anyway a live case, but I have wondered ever since After my first divorce I was having a fun time and met a girl called Maggie referred to affectionately as ''mad Maggie'', who was not unattractive, very tarty looking and very odd/ dim. we had a very on off friendship going out for a few weeks and then not being in touch for a few months. I suspected she was married as i was never allowed any where near her house or friends After not hearing from her for about 2 months, I got a call one sunny Sunday afternoon to say she was up my end and would I come and pick her up. I threw the dog in the car and drove the half mile t…

If you were to be driving down a road and you saw people, lets say white van men Dumping rubbish at the side of the road. Would you be within the law to prevent them leaving the scene? Or is there some law against this as its kinda of taking a vigilante approach??? Say they were on dirt lay-by? Or in the middle of the road?

Firstly: hello again! I haven't been on for a while, as the past few months have been rather hectic, what with revision and the like. It's good to be back! As for my question: what would you absolutely dread having to deal with, no matter how obscure it is? Suspect with a highly contagious disease? Shots fired in a crowded shopping centre? Suspicion that a close friend had committed a very serious offence? Widespread and rampant civil unrest? There must be plenty of absolute nightmare scenarios out there!

A door to door salesperson is working a road and attends an address without prior arrangement. The salesperson is greeted by the occupier and is permitted entry after providing a business card. The salesperson is seated in the living room, explains the product, which is a carpet cleaning agent, and offers to demonstrate its ability, to which the occupier agrees after assurance the the cleaning agent is safe. The salesperson then whips out a spray bottle of the stuff and selects an area on the lovely white carpet in an obvious area before giving a generous squeeze. In usual circumstances, the salesperson makes rotating motions with a cloth and the cleaning agent does the …

In M&S today i saw a guy wearing a Turban, nothing uncommon where i live. Made me think, what would the offence be/come under if person who took rather exception to this, pulled off his turban and mocked him for wearing it. Im assuming its racism? Racial-hatred? etc etc, And what piece of legislation would the offence be covered by?

A MOP of Chinese origin complains that a pub singer is singing "Kung Fu Fighting" in front of Chinese people and that he/she was offended by the lyrics. How would you deal with this? Before you post "What a ridiculous scenario" Read here.... http://www.thisishampshire.net/news/8994875.Musician_arrested_for_singing_Kung_Fu_fighting/

You are called to someones home, they live in a coach house with garages underneath, they want to make a complaint about one of the owners who sits in their garage at all hours day and night and revs their engine. They have a modified car, lowered, after market etc. they want it to stop but do not want to confront the neighbour. What if anything would you do? Same scenario but you live in the coach house but don't want to confront the neighbour?

Hi I'm applying for tvp qt the moment. I have just got a new job as a behaviour support at a local school. Something that I have come across today I would like to know what others think of this topic. A year 11 boy (16) was giving another year 11 large amounts of cash £100+, as he assumed he was being mates with this other boy. Now as this was bought to our attention the other month and it has now stopped. But friends of the male who was receiving the money are now being "matey" with the male giving money and knocking on the house door etc. Is there any offences and what could police do? Thanks

A local fell running organisation takes money off of competitors to take part in a local fell race. The race will follow a course that goes onto private land owned by a private company, and forms part of a triple SI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). Damage is caused by the runners to the SSSI. Does the organiser commit any offences??

I was talking with a PC the other day and he told me he attended a very hard job I shell tell you this in a second. There was a offence but it was obscure and took hours to find the answer. A homeless male is outside a language school selling the big issue, he is drumming up interest but not doing any harm it is all in good high spirits. A pupil of the school leans out the window and shouts "How much big issue is?". The homeless male replies "No mate its how much is the big issue". They both have a laugh about it and the homeless male carries on selling it. Another member of the public then talks to the pupil from the window they are laughing and talking. The homeless ma…

Here’s the scenario... The location is a Bar/Pub. MALE 1 goes for a cigarette. MALE 2 goes to the toilet with MALE 1's pint, urinates in it before returning to the table a placing the pint glass back down again. MALE 1 returns and drinks from his pint, unaware of its new contents. I’ll stop it there for now… Offences? I know what I think...

Whilst on a routine patrol P.C Keen spots a group of youths loitering near the window of a jeweller’s shop in the town centre. It is late evening and this part of the town centre is pedestrianised. He walks towards the group. As the group of youths spots P.C. Keen one of them throws a brick through the window of the jeweller’s shop. The group of youths runs away without taking anything. P.C.Keen does not follow the youths as the jeweller’s shop window is broken and there are a number of expensive items in the window. He radios for assistance giving a detailed description of the youth who threw the brick into the window. P.C. Smith who is few streets away re…
