Firstly, disclaimer fully digested and understood. The road that my fiancee lives on is a cul de sac. At the end of the cul de sac is a small offshoot which is very handy to turn into, reverse out and then drive back down the road. The first time I ever drove down the road and turned around there I very nearly smashed straight into two very low to the ground concrete planters someone has deposited in the road in what I assume is an attempt to stop people from parking there. This means it can be quite awkward to get your cars nose far enough in to make a clean reverse and turn around. I'm waiting for the day someone not familiar with the road, at night, goes to turn…

Gerald has been arrested and is detained at a police station. The custody officer has assessed that he needs to be kept under constant supervision. Gerald is in cell 1 and is being supervised by PC Smith. Gerald has stripped all of this clothing off and is sat on the bench masturbating constantly. He says to PC Smith "look at my massive cock, I know you don't want to but you've got no choice and it's really turning me on". PC Smith tells Gerald to stop but he just ignores her. She then complains to the custody officer who takes her off the duty and replaces her with PC Brown. Gerald continues masturbating in front of PC Brown and says "look at my massive cock, I k…

Someone has been a provisional licence holder in the UK since 2002, they go back To Zimbabwe earlier this year and obtain a international driving permit. That driver thinks they can drive on this in the UK unsupervised without L plates and on a motorway. - Am I right in thinking that because they are already a provisional licence holder in the UK this invalidates the international driving permit straight away?

So its 11pm on a Saturday night and you are driving home. You notice a car which has been driving in a unusual manner, much slower than the speed limit, drifting slightly into the other lane. Used the wrong lane for the roundabout and cuts infront of you. You naturally think drink driving. What do you do? (Assume the observer is very concious of the police and doesnt want to waste time directing resources to something that the observer noticed but wasnt true)

All, I have a customer answering bail soon for S4 rta and failing to provide, later checks by me have revealed he has no licence and no mot. When he answers bail do I further nick him for those offences or just ask him in interview about it after I've asked about the drink drive? Finally, as all these offences are 'absolute' does it require a mg3/evidential review decision by a sergeant to charge or is it just a straight charge after interview even with denial? Hope this make sense....

There's a current trend for theft of broadcast equipment, especially around high profile areas in London (e.g. Broadcasting House, Harley Street etc). A "near miss" was relayed on a forum earlier, and we're interested in the legalities of the situation. A news camera operator is filming on the street with a reporter, camera is mounted on a tripod. The operator leaves the camera with the correspondent and moves to the opposite pavement for whatever reason, and sees a moped with driver + passenger mount the pavement, gunning it towards the camera position. The correspondent blocks the camera from being taken, whilst the operator runs over as well. The moped is foiled from …

If you're off duty and you're in a different county to which your force is based can you still make an arrest and book them in? Or would you be forced to hand it over? Obviously this would take up your free time whilst off duty, and I'm aware that you'd have to fill out all the appropriate paperwork but I'm just curious.

Just wanted some opinions on this little scenario. You are working on a night time economy shift. As you are walking down the street you come across a person named L being forcibly ejected from a bar. He is screaming and shouting, and swearing at the door staff. He is also recording on his mobile phone. As he was being forcibly removed you hear one of the door staff ask that L stops filming him. After ejecting L, the door staff asks L again to stop filming him. As L answers to the effect of "No" the door staff then grabs the mobile out of L's hands and takes it back into the bar. The door staff doesn't have the intent to permanently deprive L of the mobile, and if you…

James and Rebecca both work in the same shop together, which is ran by the owner, Amir. James works in a shop and would like to take Rebecca out on a date, however she politely declines. He asks her for her phone number but she is unwilling to provide it. Later that day James sees Amir's iPhone on the counter and picks it up and looks through the contact list. He finds Rebecca's number, inputs it into his phone and later that night contacts her. She is angry that he has obtained her phone number and he says that "I got it from Amir". Rebecca confronts Amir at work, who says he has no knowledge of this. When checking the CCTV he clearly sees James pick up his phone and n…

You run a check on a vehicle and it comes back as showing insurance not held. You light the vehicle up and indicate that you want them to stop which they do straight away. You approach the stopped vehicle and ask the driver if he would exit the vehicle as you need to have a chat as the car is showing not to have insurance. At this point the driver just stays quite, does not acknowledge you are actually there, point blank refuses to enter any kind of conversation with you (he doesn't seem under the influence of drink or drugs) just ignoring you. The windows are closed and the doors are locked. No matter what you keep saying he just ignores you. What would you do? Would …

You attended an incident where a male has been locked out of his property following a falling out with his wife. His wife is inside refusing to let him in. There is also a young child ages 3 inside. The female is making on allegation of an assault. Both the male and the female jointly own the house. The male has threatened to break a window to gain entry. Hearing the row, neighbours have called you to the scene. What action would you take? Some ideas would be good then I'll give you what happened for critique!!

You are chilling with two friends (civvies) playing a game of pool after work/college/uni at a pub very close to your place of business/education. You are a quarter of the way through your first pint. You have two pounds on the table for reservation as per universal pub rules. The pub is empty apart from three older gentlemen at the far end of the bar. There seems to be just one member of staff. A group of 4 (3 males, 1 female) enter from a side entrance. Dressed in a variety of tracksuits, hoodies, baseball caps and other similar attire. You recognise them, they often play pool at the same place and are from your place of work/education. One of the males approaches and…

Ok it's been a while since I've posted but came across an interesting one......... "Dave" has his computer equipment seized by police investigating a fraud offence. He is subsequently NFA'd for the fraud as although the police acted in good faith on good information, it wasn't him. However, on examining his smartphone they find messages from Dave and a friend joking about setting fire to the friends ex boyfriend's car. The messages, although often repeated and joked about never actually arrange a time / date / method but do mention getting an alibi. how far would Dave and friend have to cross the line to commit conspiracy to commit criminal damage......... and what wo…

Someone is out in the town one evening, is in drink and is behaving in a manner borderline D&D. You ask them to leave and they don't. You tell them to leave and they don't so you issue them with a s27. Let's say they return within an hour (i.e. We'll within the exclusion time) you give them a final warning to leave or face arrest but they don't leave. I would imagine that arrest necessity is often going to be to prevent harm (of course it would depend on the circs) but for this little example lets say that isn't the case, you have also ascertained their name and address, they are not blocking any highways and you don't believe that there will be any damage caused.…
